  1. i think its 2281...but its just plain low mp wax..ive got the wicks/vybar narrowed down now..im getting nice steady flame for about 2-5 hours but the melt pool get deep on the bigger wick..and takes about 3 hours to start getting the wax off the side of the jar with the smaller wick(im missing a size of wick and looks like thats the exact one i need)...think ive tested 5 wicks in about 8 candles today..but im getting there...i hope thanks for the imput
  2. i think im currently testing close to the right wick...cause its taking a while...waiting to see if it gets a full MP.. another questions is does low mp parafin get full melt pool faster than high mp parafin with the same diameter?
  3. I was just wondering how long it takes your 2" diamater containers to get a full melt pool..because mine will get out to the edges in about 10 mins...but takes about 4 hours to get a half inch deep(and a bit shallower) melt pool im using low mp igi with vybar(the one for low mp) pumpkin spice FO and a flat braid wick but..was just curious..wondering if its supposed to get full mp that quick thank ya
  4. i guess it might on some things (heating part of a mold..or..i cant think of anything right off) but its got a monster fan in it compared to a heat gun...and if you were using it directly on wax the fan would prolly push melted wax to where you might not want it...and heat guns get lots hotter. im assuming..dont own either heat gun or hair dryer..so i might no have any room to talk:o
  5. just trying to get my ducks in a row here... tsp is a teaspoon....and tbs is a table spoon you use staeric in tablespoon quanities and vybar in teaspoon quanities... well if all that is correct...ive been misreading about vybar ever since i started...been dumping 1 2 and even 3 tablespoons of vybar pp of wax...but i havnt done too terribly many containers...and i only remember one getting the wrinkly effect on the top.. and one last question....is only 2 teaspoons a tablespoon?
  6. i think you need a 'liquid solvent' i apologize but ive forgotten the actual name of it...but its used to mix with FO for incense and...potpourri (i think i spelled it right) but ive never made any so i dont know the purpose for it or any ratios..but ill check it out for ya -edit- DGP "You can also use a liquid potpourri mixture of fragrance oil and incense solvent (DPG) and apply to dry potpourri with a spray bottle, continually spraying and mixing around until evenly distributed." but it also says you dont -have- to use it..that you can use straight FO "Add fragrance oil to the potpourri mix..." and "1/4 to 1/2 oz. per pound, depending on desired scent strength." so i suppose its up to how you want to do it..
  7. only possible that i personally could think of was this paint/dye/something i read about somewhere...it floats on top of water so you get a bucket of water and spin the candle by the wick into and out of the bucket of water after you have a design of paint floating in the bucket...and you get a swirly type design but i have no idea if it doesnt look like its just paint on there..
  8. oh yeah.. im burning one with 36-24-24 and one with a 44-24-18..and they both do the same thing
  9. could anyone tell me why i have no luck with zinc..im using straight low mp parafin with vybar for some 4 oz (2" inch diamater) containers...at about 2 hours of burning my wick mushrooms about as big as a pencil eraser and the melt pool is all the way to the edge...and about 3/4 of an inch -deep-...i figure its heat traveling down the core helping melt the wax...but they arnt suppose to do this...are they? im sure im doing something wrong...any help would be greatly appriciated.. thank you
