  1. As far as the Yankee Swap goes....Just say you want to participate and bring your box for Friday night.

Nancy....NO FAIR! Julie will be stealing it now. hhhhmmmmmmm....guess I will have to make sure she gets like #2 or something...lol

Everyone heard what Abbie said??? If you havent booked your room, you better get to doin it as the Hotel may be sold out for those nights soon! Much knowledge and FUN awaits!!!!

  2. OMG...it is less than 2 months away!!! I am so pumped!

If any of you have not registered yet, do so! You will not be sorry you attended. This gathering is so much fun. I still say the best part is the networking with other crafters and meeting people from the boards. Yes we do have fun at night, but that is purely optional. And no, not everyone who attends the festivities after business drinks. I, personally, do not drink a lot. So, if some of you are worried about it being a drunken brawl, please put that out of your mind...it is nothing like that.

Please everyone....Do not forget about the Yankee Swap. It is a lot of fun and again, optional. Look at the website for details.

    Cant wait to see everyone!!!!!!!!!!

  3. **SPOILER**

Those ladies can literally sing so if you are thinking that you are going to listen to karoke and laugh - it's not happening! They are great and just for the record it was a let down that they were so good - but then there were some other peeps there that were pretty funny, tying to rap - I guess that made up for it. Oh and they don't do requests!

Awww Abbie, Thanks! You know how much I LOVE to sing!

  4. Thank you!

We're still kinda debating. It's over a six-hour drive for us but we figured shared between two will make it more affordable. I definitely want to be there for the Friday night meet and greet but Saturday we'll probably hit the road back to NY. We live 20 minutes from the PA border (Pike County) but of course you guys have to be all the way on the other side of the state.

I just have a few more questions: How long is the Saturday event? About what time should it end?

How close are you to filling up? I don't want to wait too long to register and it be too late.

I love Yankee swaps. Will this one have the option of stealing?

Girl you have to come! Not only is the meeting very informative but the networking is the best!

I live in Upstate NY (Steuben Co) about 20 min from the PA border and it takes me about 5 1/2 hrs to get there.

If you are into herbs, infusions and things like that you will definitly want to be there on Saturday as we have a wonderful speaker lined up. The meet & greet on friday night will be fun also. The Yankee swap is a blast. We are also thinking of doing some mini exclusive item swaps...so I know you will want to be in on that since you make fabulous hand creme!!!!

We do have fun, but we also learn and teach new things to the participants. So, get your butt to Pittsburgh!...especially if you can sing Karaoke with us!!!

  5. YAY!!!! that time is coming soon! I cant wait to see all of you again. I already have my Yankee Swap item made! I have also been practicing some new songs to sing...you girls know I love to sing!!!!!

We are going to have so much fun this yr. Make sure everyone gets there on Friday night. We are going to have some demos and a pizza party/meet and greet on friday.

Cant wait to see my girls! and meet some new faces.

  6. Nice job, are they HP soaps. I like the Almond and Shea one. I used to HP and now I hardly every do it anymore. I started with M&P, then a friend taught me HP and then I learned CP on my own (well with lots of help from library books, forums and practice).

No it is CP...just not cleaned up. I do not like the feel of HP soap...so I have never tried it. Dont think I ever will...lol

Luci...the Almond & Shea smells great!

  7. These are 2 of the Oils from sockmonkey.

The ginger flower seized but I think it did turn out ok. I took out 2 bowls for a swirl. Used Select Shades Violet Red and Gold Mica for the swirls. Added the FO to the uncolored base and it seemed to do ok, so I added the colors for an in the pot swirl and they floated on top....so I just used a spoon and broke up the scented part and shoved it in the mold. Dont think it turned out too bad...and it smells wonderful!

2nd is the Almond & Shea. Soaped beautifully! I used bronze mica for the swirl.

  8. Tabatha....How about doing a yellow and gold swirl...what I mean is dye the soap yellow but add the gold mica to that yellow for the shimmer effect. As far as the coconut goes...mine has turned a med to dark tan...not brown...but definitly tan. I used it in my Veggie recipe, I think I am gonna try it in my Lard recipe next which is a much more white soap than the veggie.

Rhonda...So far I am so loving your oils!...and you have to know me...I am probably the pickiest person you will ever meet! Great job girl!!!!

  9. Sooooo how are they soaping? You saying full water for S&E or did you majorly discount?

I get to make some patch rasp today and some others me thinks, but I may hold off till you respond.

I used a discount with the patch rasp and it soaped like a dream. The coconut one soaped great too with a discount.

  10. Thanks for the help. I finally found something that was helpful after looking at the county website. Anyone else looking to start up in NY be aware that there is a website to help determine what permits/licenses you need. http://www.nys-opal.com

Thanks again, you all rock! :yay:

When you need Insurance, contact me and I can hook you up. Great Ins and super cheap!!!!! Even though I am an Insurance Agent, it is not thru my company so I am not profiting from it. It is thru a fellow Agent.

    Good Luck!

  11. Just curious. If someone is trying to find a "realistic" scent, why not just purchase the essential oil and truly get the real thing?

I refuse to pay Patchouli EO prices. I have seen it as high as $70 a pound. No way...no how! This FO is so close to the real thing that I will save my money.

Diamond K...I do Patch in a Hemp Soap so it is a cream color.

  12. I made candles and stuck this label on them. I had several different ones.

Here's a candle for you to light,

Once the stork has made its flight.

With the flicker of the flame,

Say a prayer in ______ name.

Here is a candle for you today,

to light when baby is here to stay.

When you light it's flickering flame

Say a prayer in ______ name.

A little candle for you to light,

Once the stork has made its flight.

The flame will glow to celebrate,

    Baby _______'s arrival date.

This is a gift for you today,

So when I'm born you'll light my way.

And when that happy day is here,

Burn this candle and spread good cheer.

THANK YOU!!!! The last part is what I used!

  13. Kim-- how does that tropical element stack up to that creamy cocnut I had from NG? totally different ball game or what? . . . . . . . . . . . . .Abbie-- I have a sample of the celestial sea shampoo bar too (that is why I ordered it and don't ask me how I ended up with both samples..I have no idea) . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .darn you guys!!! now I wish I ordered the tropical element too!!! maybe Rhonda will let me add a sample of it to my order. I am such a pain in the neck customer!!! lol . . . . . . . .. . . SYR-- how is the ancient incense? . . . . .

I dont know...its a toss up. I think the NG one has much more of a vanilla scent than this one. MW has soaped it and it soaps to a light creamy tan..I think I remember that correctly. I put it into my Dry Oil spray tonight and it is YUMMY!!!

You would like the Ancient Incense...very earthy...so you know I dont like it...lol
