chrisasst
I know it is here someplace but I can't find it..What do the numbers mean on zinc wicks?I have 44-24-18z I am testing in my votives and it mushrooming and has about 1/2" pool after 2 hours, so I am guessing this wick is too big. (best scent throw I have ever gotten though)CS has 36-24-24 Z...how much of a difference is this wick from the 44-24-18?thanks
number2of7
Found this by googling....hope it helps:Q: What do the three sets of numbers on the pre-tabbed wicks mean? A: The first number is the thickness of the wick. The bigger this number, the thicker the wick. The second number is coded for the speed of which the string (all wicks start out with very thin string) goes thru the wicking machine gears. The faster it goes thru the machine the tighter the wick is wicked, which should slow the wick from burning too fast. The last number is a code for the temperature of the wax as the string (wick) goes thru the various gears. This temperature varies according to the previous numbers.
