  1. I use Flicker's LS. I'm getting alot of compliments about my soy candles with it. HT is strong with 700 series wick. Carrie
  2. I second that Karen Personal Fave: Creme Brulee CS Best Seller: Love Spell Flicker's
  3. Well, I would love to get it started but, I think I broke a rule somehow over this. I checked the rules and it's a little iffy as to whether or not I can post this stuff. I started a thread in the business section and it's been deleted. Would be nice to know what part broke the rules so I don't do it again. Anyway, Turning Stone...ROTFLMBO!!! Carrie
  4. Connie, you're in Parish right? You wouldn't even have to come get it. I go to Syracuse all the time. I would just drop it off on my way. LOL Talk about customer service. Anyway, I would do a survey of the NYers that would do business with me to see what they need whether it's soy or paraffin. I will definitely carry GW464 as that's what I use. I doubt I would carry FOs for awhile as I like the oils I get for myself. I can't see taking on FOs right away. But I would like to know what you guys would like me to carry so I can work on a business plan. I've spoken with my husband about this several times but was afraid I wouldn't have enough business to afford to quit my puny job. I would want to be able to work this full-time so I could offer same-day shipping. PM me with your thought so I don't hijack this thread anymore. Regards, Carrie
  5. I'm a NYer too. I live up by Watertown. You know what? I'm tired of having to pay the crazy shipping and hearing of others dealing with it too. I think I'm going to start up a supply company. All I need is a small steel building and a large amount of capital. Then I could be a SAHM for real and all the NYers wouldn't be paying such huge amounts for shipping. Let me know what you think. I'm serious. Carrie
  6. I got addicted to candlemaking because of CW. I bought the candlemaker kit and followed the directions. I, absolutely, loved it. I don't regret it, either. I do not like their business plan or their prices though. I live on the east coast and they are in CA so shipping is for the birds as well. The plan for CW will not work as there will be too much competition if everyone is making candles. So, I learned I could make candles from CW. I learned everything else from Candletech. LOL Now, I buy supplies from reputable suppliers and test, test, test and test some more. CW is not fly-by-night but the majority of it's members will be. I'm glad Tam is comfortable with them. They really do have great FO and you don't get frosting with their wax. The candles I made with their kit were my first candles ever and they were awesome. Just my 2 cents. Carrie
  7. Another thing to consider. Does your friend put the candle in the fridge after use? Alot of people do. The rapid temperature change will cause breakage at some point. Just a thought. Carrie
  8. All Degenerative diseases... such as aids, cancer, stroke, heart disease, Alzheimer's, chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia, cronic bowel, arthritis, and hundreds of others are allowed or caused by a malfunctioning immune system. In fact, each one of us has the potential to get cancer everyday. Our body continually produces new cells and many of these cells become diseased or mutated. This is normal everyday, and it is normally not a problem as a properly working immune system detects and disposes of the diseased or cancerous cells. It's when our immune system is malfunctioning these cells multiply and over time can cause cancer, which is the cause of one out of every three deaths worldwide. Our immune system is the guardian of our health. Our Immune system also controls body chemistry...which is why many people's energy levels are improved and general health seems to return as our body's chemistry is once in the proper balance. I agree with Shine. Everything in moderation. Wine is good for you unless you drink too much then it causes problems. The secret to staying healthy is balance. Even taking those vitamins in th morning aren't doing you any good if you don't take them with certain foods. They just get flushed and you might as well go eat a tablespoon of your driveway dirt as it's probably more healthy. Don't let these "studies" scare you. Some people hear the new fad "Soy is healthy" and they change to a mostly soy diet. This in turn confuses the body and these people neglect getting the other nutrients needed from other stuff. Don't forget, there are more preservatives in our diets today as well. My parents didn't have all that extra stuff in their diets AND they weren't as lazy so, they are healthier today than we will be at their age...for the most part. They had to "work it off." Now there is a remote control for almost everything...even miniblinds. I am going to continue to make soy candles. If someone doesn't want my candle because they think it will give them cancer, so be it. Ignorance is bliss...so they say. Carrie
  9. You guys that don't have a Christmas Tree Shop near you can sign up for their flyer at christmastreeshops.com If you find something you want, just let me know. I go to Syracuse all the time and I can pick stuff up and ship it to you. No big deal. You'll just have to call the store and pay in advance and cover shipping. You may even be able to get them to ship the stuff to you. I'm just not sure if they'd be nice enough to charge you exact shipping. Just a thought to help fellow chandlers. Regards, Carrie
  10. Thank you so much. I will do just that. I won't be ordering Butt Naked from Millcreek. LOL I got mine from NG. Thanks, Carrie

  13. Near Watertown. Maybe, we can pull our hair out together? LOL Carrie
  14. First of all, HI EVERYBODY!!! Nice to meet you. I've spent hours reading through this forum and I am beat. I have a 1-month old baby and I want to get this "hobby" underway. So, could someone feel pity on me and give me some advice as how to get the best candle with the supplies I've got? Or tell me if I need to get something I don't have? My only concern is a great hot throw. Here's what I've got: NVSoy container wax. - I know, I know...I got suckered in but, that's what started my addiction...er hobby. LOL EcoSoya CB 135 5 oz.
