lauramw71
I don't know what I did wrong! This is only my 2nd batch and it does NOT look like the first one. It's not "liquidy" at all. The first time I made it it went through the stages of bubbling around the edges, than turned on itself. Right after cooking for only 15 mins it's like thick pudding. I'm freaking out! First time I cooked it for 2 hours.. eesh I don't kknow if this will be able to cook that long? Here's my recipe:Olive oil pomace - 8ozCoconut - 6.4lard - 5.76mango butter - 4.8shea - 3.84castor - 1.6avocado - 1.612.16 oz water4.4 lyeShould I just let it keep cooking? I sure hope I didn't ruin this batch... lol Oh, I also added 2TBSP sodium lactate to water before adding lye. After cooking bout 40 mins it was sooo thick so I freaked out and did a zap test.. Oh crap, definately NOT done!Wonder if this batch is ruined
Jewls819
Just break it up and stir it ...and put lid back on. It should be fine. That is still raw soap. My batch I just poured did that. It will get liquid...I am sure of it. Edited March 4, 2012 by Jewls819

Abbiepql
Even once it's cooked it will continue to "zing" for a couple of days! Ask me how I know:-)
