minx
Does anyone have any issues with tins going out of shape?I had one or two move out of shape and thought it was because I had taped the wick to the tin. But last night I made some testers with the C3 without wicks. Melted to 180, poured at 160 and popped them into a warm oven and let them cool overnight. When I put the lids on this morning, some wouldn't sit on properly. They would slip up. The came with the lids on so I know they do fit. My thoughts were that it was poured to hot into the tin and it is warped it slightly, or maybe it was too full. I've been filling just over the indent line.Anyone had this issue before or any ideas????
bugtussle
Tins will not warp. They can get out of shape if bumped, hit, like during shipping. I always look at the roundness of the tin before I pour. If not round, bend it! Carole
Stella1952
Where did you get the tins? I have poured palm wax into tins at 205°F and not had any issues like this... Makes me wonder about the quality of the tins...
minx
The tins were perfectly round and no issues with lids fitting before I filled them Warp might be a strong word, but they did change shape enough for the lid not to slide easily onto the tin. I bought them from NCS here in Aus. Annoying if it is the quailty of the tins as I still have a box full.
