rebeccajo99
I was going to start testing lotions, but I don't have ewax or preservatives yet. In the effort to not buy something that I don't have the money for yet... I'm going to hold off for a little longer. In my process of looking for lotion recipes I found body butter recipes. So, I have a quick question. I have the ingrediants for a few recipes that I wrote down, but don't have preservatives yet. Does the preservative change the feel of the butter where I can make it for myself for testing. Once I find a recipe, purchase the preservative to make it for my testers. Thanks
LuminousBoutique
no doesnt change it IMO. I never preserved my test batches either... when you're just making some to decide if you like it or not, its not a big deal. I just make sure anything I'm gifting or selling is preserved
mychellec
I primarily use Liquid Germall Plus, and it does not impact the feel or smell of the product. It is used in such a small amount that you don't notice it's there. Optiphen, IME, smells terrible and has a tendency to curdle lotions. I only use it in scrubs, and only if I have to. I hope you find a system you like.
