lbtddr Posted November 5, 2005 Share Posted November 5, 2005 so far every soap i make is brown in some shade.is there a way to no if it will stay white or not. tried soy bean for a base oil and olive.i thought it might be the butters but there was a pitcher posted of one it was white just not sure what it is. Some will turn your soaps brown, tan, gray, yellow, pink, etc.My soap oils are olive oil, palm oil, coconut oil, and soybean. Purple Lilac Posted November 5, 2005 Share Posted November 5, 2005 Another thought - Just read somewhere that iron in water will cause discoloring. If you use distilled water that shouldn't be a problem though. But will not dispute the fact that some FO will change the color of your soap.I have had this happen many a times.
