littysmom
I have read from different forums that it is ok to use your goats milk soap if it turns brown in the lye. I just wanted to check out your opinions on this. I didn't know at the time that you should freeze the goats milk prior to adding it to the lye solution. It did curdle quite a bit. I made the soap as usual. It is brown tho. (Light brown) It smells great! I added lavender buds and Lav. oil.It has been 4 wks and some bars are curing nicely. Some are still alittle oily feeeling (the bigger bars) So my question is.. does it make a difference that it scorched some? I had a small sample shaving that I used myself and it was ok....... Meridith
No to me it doesn't matter if you scorched or curdled the gm. Especially if its for personal use - my family has used the ones I've curdled the gm with before and no limbs fell off and nor scorching holes were burned through our bodies or scarring. We lived to tell. Also, that horrid smell will usually cure out.
