snow
My photo canes are turning out really nice, I level mine in a pan over top of a pot filled with water. But this is getting harder to do for some reason. I'm having trouble getting them nice and level and smooth around the tops. There has to be a better way. What are some of the things you guys use? I'm readly to invest in whatever it is to make this last process of cane making easier and neater. It's me again..thanking you all....Dee
marika
Take a non-stick frying pan and put it over a pan with water. Make sure the bottom of the pan is level and rotate your cane on the hot pan. HTHMari

Alan
Electric non-stick griddle... you can find them in a lot of second hand stores for a couple dollars. They are fairly easy to clean up too since the wax drains into what would normally be the grease channels.

sharyl55
I use an electric griddle. Any electric griddle/ skillet would work. Easier to set the temp than doing something on the stove and lots more stable. I check how level the 'cane is before I start with a small 2" bubble level then spin it. Good Luck
