  1. http://www.google.com/search?q=butterfly+creek&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a

That's a hugely used name in just about every trade. :/

All these are of course interchangeable with company, corp., etc. What about incorporating other words instead of creek?

    Creekfly

    Dragonfly Stream

    Soap Stream or Spring

    Dragonfly Brook

    Dragonfly Spring

The following are different language translations of "by the" in the middle.

    Dragonfly Por Creek

    Dragonfly Par Creek

    Dragonfly Dal Creek

I'm sure some of these might be in use, but some ideas.

    I'm liking the Dragonfly Spring...

    Thanks for the ideas!:grin2:

  2. That's really the first thing you need to do. If you wrack your brain over a name and then find out it's already spoken for, it's wasted time.

I like the "look" of Dragonfly Creek, but it's kinda hard to say outloud. You sure could do a lot of pretty things with a logo, though.

Very true... I think I'll search just Dragonfly and a couple other things and see what I can come up with.... tomorrow.! For now it's time to eat!!!

    Thanks for the advice..

Maybe Butterfly Creek... it's a little easier to say...

  3. I hadn't searched the names yet to see if they were in use, was trying to earlier and my internet pooped out on me.

I wondered too about the length, those seemed kinda long to me.

I do cp soap, body butter, hand lotion, bath salts, sugar scrub, dry oil spray and am going to start to dabble with cream soap.

I'd say more rustic right now... but in the future I hope to be able to do a more upscale spa line. To be able to cater to both. For the logo I want more of an outline type, not solid..kwim? With a flowing font. So of course I need a name to go with that.

    Thanks!

  4. I soooo suck at this! Trying to figure out names is not my strong suit. But I'm getting ready to start selling and have been dragging my feet about my business name... here's what I have so far..

    Dragonfly Creek Soap Co.

    Creekside Soaps & Sundries

    Celestial Body Creations

Ok, now I do live by a creek and we have lots of dragonflies..which I love by the way. I've come up with a couple logos for the first 2 from one of the free logo sites. Now the last one I was using printmaster and found a goddess type graphic that I was using on labels and such and I really liked it, but obviously I can't use it to sell.

    I just don't know...:undecided

    Thanks!

  5. When adding anything to a base you must be careful about the preservatives. The base should have already been formulated with the right amount and adding more can ruin that formulation and cause nasty lil' beasties to grow...

I purchased both a lotion base and a whipped butter from Ky candle supply. Can you advise what could I add to it for dry skin that would mix well

    thank you

  6. betterthangreens.com has 10 oz for $12 and shipping to me for this item alone was $5.60

    Thanks so much carebear!....

:tiptoe: off to bettterthangreens.com......hoping hubby isn't watching buy MORE supplies....

  7. Ooohhhh.... I believe that's the swap I'm in too, at least I hope so! I've been waiting to try it on my bad knee....(really bad, as in knee replacement in a year or so bad) since you posted what you've made. It's very sore in the back and I hope this helps.

    Can't wait for my box!

  8. I got mine at Texas Natural Supplies. I use it by adding it directly to my soap batter and mixing it in.

I went to their site and they've got lots I'd love to try...but dang!... shipping for 10oz of product, less that $11.00 was $13.56! Wowzers!! I'll go to the GNC I guess for the charcoal..I just wish they didn't have so much that I want..:cry2:

    Thanks for the suggestion though!

  9. Duh!! It's not like I've not ordered from there...brain fart!

I've had the pink pepperberry from js and liked it, but it was weak to me. Of course now that I'm doing B&B it's probably ok. But this gives me another reason to order more from Backwoods!!:grin2:

    Thanks!

Backwoods :grin2: The pink pepperberry is GREAT! But then again, I dont think you can go wrong with her scents. BW's Pumpkin cornbread and yummy punkin are also great in Body butters
  10. Well, I tried the way you guys suggested, NO, I will not try and fumble and get psssssd off trying to peel that darn round paper off the stickum, it's really stuck. That's worse than trying to get the seal off of a bottle of salad dressing. Either BCN fixes them or they lose me. Stickums are supposed to make life easier not harder. Carole :tiptoe: :tiptoe: :tiptoe: :tiptoe:

Yep, they lost me years ago when I was having problems with them not sticking to the jar. Never had a problem with stickums from other suppliers though. When I pointed this out and asked if it was maybe just a batch problem I was blasted for it. Steve's always worked well for me!

  11. The first (or what I thought was my first) order was just for SS and came quickly, so I thought all was well and ordered again, this time several fo's. Needless to say about two months went by with no delivery, so when I checked the status of the order, lo and behold, I had another order that I had placed a year before that I had totally forgotten about! Never had received it! I emailed them about both orders and I ended up receiving a combo order. That is, a few of the items of the first order with the most recent. I know I emailed them at least twice with no reply.

Needless to say, once my SS are gone, I'll be looking elsewhere.

  12. They are fantastic. My faves are Iced Pineapple & Tangerine, Mango Peach fusion, Almond Biscotti, Cherry Berry, and Gingersnap. I have the Pumpkin Cheesecake and Hazelnut Latte, but haven't yet made them into lip balms.

The sweetener is great too - it doesn't take very much!

I'm definately wanting the Mango Peach and Pineapple & Tangerine, and probably a bakery one. Glad to hear about the sweetener too!

    Thanks sporadic!

  13. I just soaped Peaks brown sugar & fig, and although one might not think of summer or spring from the name, it sure smells light and fresh- and soaps beautifully!!! :)

    I'm also wanting to soap:

    Coconut banana blast

    Botnical orchard & nectar

    Birds of paradise

Fruit slices (one of my favs in candles for spring/summer)

Ooh guavaberry from Solas is awesome in soap

Green clover & aloe is a refreshing scent

I've also got lilac, plumeria and some other florals, but I'm afraid to CP them, as I've heard that florals tend to accelerate ultra fast!

    Have fun deciding! :D

I just soaped Peaks Bird of Paradise the day before yesterday and it did wonderful..no a or d (at least so far)... it smells like heaven!
