  1. I received several bottles of FO in a giveaway on Facebook recently. Most of them are Christmas fragrances and I don't plan to use them until next fall at least. Will they store well if tightly capped and kept in the dark? A couple of the fragrances are not my type at all and I may put them up for someone who would want them, but not sure yet.

    Thanks!

  2. Did you deliberately try for a marbled look? Those look awesome and very realistic. Very cool!! BTW how did you get that great black color? I am jealous!!

Thanks, Candy! I used clear melt and pour and added black oxide (Nature's Garden) and some white pearl mica. The loofah in there shows through in some spots, too.

I've found from experience and from input here and others that you can only get that true black with the clear base. Opaque base just turns a gunmetal gray.

  3. Just a note: I was at an antique mall this weekend and a vendor had some craft items for sale. She used the same logo as I used in my soaps. I noticed hers had a sticker that said they were officially licensed or used by permission....something to that effect. So I suppose there is a way to use them legitimately. I'll check with my friend from NCAA.

  4. I am still learning and only do melt and pour. I had given a gift of a pink rose soap w/ mica dusted onto the design on top to my future Mother-In-Law and she loved it. She showed it to one of her home helpers (she is homebound) and she asked if she could buy some to give as gifts. I made up pink (rose scented) and lilac (lavendar/rose scented) soaps in the rose patterns w/ mica dust on the designs and charged $4 each. She wanted 10, so I made $40!! I threw in one of my Christmas embedded soaps as a gift to her.

This was all unofficial and no taxes were charged or anything like that, but it sure felt good that someone wanted to pay for my soap. Still trying to decide whether to pursue the business side or not.

    Just wanted to share.:smiley2:
