Link Exchanges are traffic bleeds. Keep visitors on YOUR site, don't send them to someone else's.
Free shipping on 40+ is going to cost you $$$'s. Candles are heavy. As an example, with packaging, 3 good size candles from SC to CA would cost me 12.14 for Priority Mail. If I use Flat Rate Priority, it would still be 10.50. Eats up any profit real quick! That's a minimum of over 3.00 per candle lost!
Sites looking nice though.

Thanks Stella. 25oz's of the 6006. Probably just too much.

Could use some suggestions for coloring 6006 w/Creme Brulee FO. I tried Maize...not right. Also just tried Golden Honey/Vanilla liquid dye from Peak and they look like something my dog would do in the backyard! Think I'll call this batch of melts....Doggy Doo!
Thanks

Nice site AND candles! Might want to have your web developer fix this one as well.

It appears that you have an Oscommerce based site. You will find much help here: http://forums.oscommerce.com/
If it's a zen cart, you will find much help here: http://www.zen-cart.com/forum/
Also, sign up for a free google webmasters account. Once you've added their code to your site, (among other things you can do there), you will be able to track all visitors to your site. Take advantage of what google has to offer. There is much available including how to go about it here. https://accounts.google.com/ServiceLogin?hl=en&continue=http://www.google.com/
Do the same at yahoo and bing.
If you don't already have one, you need to add a robots.txt file to your root directory.
Keywords for your index pg and all product pgs.
The list could go on forever! Best place to start is google and the forum related to your cart.

This was the 5th burn. First 4 were done properly.
-
I wanted to see what happened when I left it alone. Say I give one like this to a friend, and they leave the house forgetting that the candle is lit.
-
UPDATE:
4th Burn was 6 1/2 hours without trimming wick during the burn. Wick mushroomed greatly and glass got too hot to touch.
Suggestions/Advice?
Thanks

LOL! It's not a flood! Mostly running down the side of the bottle as I'm trying to pour small amounts to get the correct weight. If I could just dump it, it'd be no problem.
-
Have to have the pour spouts!!! They are cheap from Peak. Then you do as tamese said. Always measure - even the "1 oz" bottles - they are usually off and if you don't weight it you won't know how much you are actually using when making notes so you can replicate (or not) your results.
I looked on Peaks site but didn't see them.
-
I put my pour pot on my scale hit tare and pour right into the pour pot. I usually have the 16 oz bottles so I don't usually pour to much.
I tried this but I still had fo running down the side of the bottle and onto the table.
-
Well, I just made 6 candles and I think I spilled more fo than I put in the candles!. Very annoying. Now thinking about a large syringe or similar. Turkey baster maybe?
-
I seem to spill/drip my fo's all over the place when I'm measuring/weighing. How do you deal with your fo's without making a mess?
Thanks

Anyone know if 6006 ships well? GF and family are still in Fla. Thought I'd send them some as gifts/testers.
-
Yes, third burn. I HATE waiting! Drives me nuts. I'm an 'I want it now' type. Going to pour 4 more. 3 with the 51z and one with the 60z just for kicks.

Keep in mind too that you will "get used" to a smell - just like your eyes get used to bright light or dim light. You may need to go outside and get some fresh air, then come back in - it might surprise you! But, I'm in the category of "nice pleasant aroma" - I don't want mine to be so strong that it's annoying - just enough to be "there" and enjoyable! Don't give up!
Thanks. Yes, I'm aware of 'candle nose'. All my tests are done in a separate room, door closed. I don't go in for at least several hours. Gives me a pretty good sense as to what's happening.
-
Silly question: you are weighing your FO right?
Yes, absolutely.
-
Seems like a relatively small candle to me. 7.5oz. Room is actually 12x12. (I just measured) Scent fills the room no problem. I'm not looking for 'overwhelming'.
-
Fair enough. I don't intend to sell candles. I'm just trying to make good smelling candles for myself and a few friends.
-
Smells great to me. After I burn it all, I'll give a few to friends for more opinions.
Jar is 2 1/2 dia across the top but it's a semi square jar below the top. Outside dia of the sq portion is almost 3". 3 1/4 tall.

Well, I think I've finally made a nice candle. Couldn't wait any longer to try! I put the candle in a 12x10' room, and first burn, (2hrs), filled the room with a nice pleasant aroma. Close to fmp. Future burns will tell if I've wicked correctly. Love the Blackberry M.
09/20/11 #0001 - 8oz Mason Jar (Peak)
Wax 6006 (CS)
FO: Blackberry Marmalade (CS)
FO 8.00%
Dye: Half chip of purple. (Nice color - but needs more dye)
FO & dye added at 185
Stir 2 minutes
Pour: 180
Wick: 51z
My question: Does a nice pleasant aroma, not underwhelming or overwhelming, in a 10x12 room, sound like a successful candle HT? Sounds/smells good to me but I have nothing to compare it to.
Thanks

Thanks. They would be paraffin.
Has anyone tried straight IGI6006 or 444 for tarts?

Mine pop out fairly nicely every time.
