How much beswax can or should be added to Goatsmilk M&P??? To aid in the hardening process?
-
Another vote for Aluminum. Has worked fine so far.
-
Suzanne (dublon) sells them for 5 cents each. She's a doll to work with and a fast shipper.
I totally agree with you!!
-
Your're layering on the votives and melts is outstanding. BEAUTIFUL! How much time do you have on your hands? J/K. LOL
-
Not an answer about the crystalization?(If that is a word)LOL But M&P should not need any curing time. Well that is my experience. HTH

Glad to know that it isn't just me not being able to to use plastic wrap to were it looks nice. As in unwrinkled. Another 5 yr.old here.
-
Well for "shapes" I hve used candy molds. Just be careful not to pour too hot. And have not had any blemishes. HTH
-
- You may want to consider clamshells. Easy to pour and no packaging issues. Just PM me if you would like to try some.

I use 75% percent J223 & 25% 1343A for my melts and love them. my personal opinion here, but try to find some mixture that you do not use any "crisco" in.

I see, well that's good if wal-mart has it, then all I have to do is remember to make a note about it on my list...then remember what I did with the list.. Thanks for the info.
Oh How I can relate to making lists.;which I do often ,but ,yes, we do have to remember to take them w/ to the store! LOL

So where do you buy this plastic canvas?
At Wal-Mart or such. Just ask back in the craft section and they can guide you right to it. You have probably seen things made from this just don't realize it.
-
I think the are the easiest. Wish I could have been of more help Ashlie.

I love the presentation. If you like to dip go for it, double your money! But as stated previously think about injecting also. Either way,or not at all;Beautiful!!
-
Wow!!! You really have patience to do do those beautiful layers.
-
The general consensus is... if you will be adding no water to the packaged product.....you do not need a preservative. Go by the expiration date on the dry milk package instead.
And since instructions are to ADD 2 to 3 TBLS etc... TO bath(by shaking in or by scoop) hopefully water would not be added to the product. That is my thinking when I sell this.

I like this idea!! Now to Dig out the plastic canvas from the closet. I have made more then my share of coasters and tissue boxes with this stuff. Yrs. have gone by, now a useful purpose for it!

I have thought about unwinding the wick from the spool into the melted wax and then holding a paper towel at the edge of the pot to wipe the excess wax off as I rewind the wick back onto the spool. I haven't tried it yet so I don't know how well it would work.
Haven't tried doing the spool of wick. Just a few yrds. at a time. But sounds to much for me. Just order primed wicks. (may have to think of this for first :tiptoe: spool buys though)

I have always loved really strong fragrances in my home. I admit I did some pretty crazy things before I started making candles and became enlightened...and this was one of them. I always added oil to the melt pool of my candles.:embarasse
Shame on you!!! I am just kidding around.
But doesn't it make us feel so good now to know the "bestest" way to make great scented candles?!

I guess I am in the same boat. FB as seem to work for me from the beginning "in pillars" Not much luck so far w/ LX. So I will leave well enough alone. Maybe LOL:laugh2:
I've been using flat braid in my pillars for a few years now and works awesome. I have just started trying lx wicks and not having any luck so far...I guess if something already works you should leave it alone...lol. -
Another "ornie" fan here. so easy to make as well as original looking.
-
I use 3 TBL. w/ FB or CD wicks HTH helps with ideas. And wow 5 TBL. Stearic. ( Not say it wouldn't work;never tried); but what is the benefit of that much?
-
I fill my to the top as well. just try not to let the wax run onto the outer edge(closer area). You will get used to closing & opening them in a short time. (I Pull the top just a bit to close & open) HTH and makes sense.:rolleyes2

I rcv'd an e-mail from my bank(Bank of America) to update my info due to inactivity of our account!!! WTF I was LMAO. No I didn't open it. Our account is not idle for more than one day at a run. I called my local branch to let them know that I had rcv'd this "joke of the day" email

Gosh I am not going to be able to answer your ?? because I refuse to try making them. But on a possitive note; when I was in N.J./N.Y. LAST march a friend of Ashlie's gave me one. It has been in my DD bath all this time & EVERYtime I go in there it always has a great scent throw. Was just thinking of this this afternoon. HTH on your decision of making them.
Go for it , I'm just not that patient.
waxes?
