what do you put your FO in when you put it on the scale? do dixie cups really work the best? or like little plastic shot glasses?

i think that when i do my site i'm gonna try to do both...sometimes it is cheaper to do flat rate, but not always...i guess it is just up to the customer, as in how fast they want/need the product, etc.

ok, i just re-did my calculations....i came up with $0.63/cost and $1.89 to sell them for.....that sounds a little more reasonable! lol

ok so my calculations tell me that i should be charging around $2.50 per votive. do you think that is too high? seems a little high to me. maybe i'm off on my calculations? like how do you figure out the cost per drop of liquid dye? lol...that's almost impossible.

i'm sitting here trying to figure out my cost per candle. i don't think i'm doing it right, but just to get an idea of what everyone sells theres for...just to see if i'm crazy? i have the spreadsheet and i'm still confused...i just don't think my mind thinks this way! ggrrr....

ok, good now i know. i had a feeling it was the dye itself! i plan on taking a trip down to houston for some supplies when i get from vacay next month!

UPDATE:

ok, i made some candles using the J50 wax. i used about 2-4 drops? i think for 1/2lb of wax of red liquid dye that i got from Hobby Lobby. they came out PINK!!! is it the dye itself? like are they bad quality dyes or something? i'm totally frustrated!

hey everyone. i'm having trouble getting my wax to color correctly. i put about 1/2 fl oz of liquid dye in crystal palm wax. i was trying to get a pumpkin orange color and it did come out orange just not REALLY orange. kind of a peachy orange...should i have done something different? or added something? also...any advice for J50 wax? i have never used it before. thanks!
