  1. I really like your Scan13 pic, especially the square. Very nice colour combo and neat design also. Where are u from Tom? I'm in Ontario also. Nice to meet other Canadian candlers on this board. :)

Same here. I'm in Durham Region. Lived there forever. Some of the chunks I've done have turned out horribly, like the one I'm burning now just to get rid of. Red with black chunks. It looks more horrible than it sounds but oh well, live and learn. :) I've seen some magnificent chunk work in this forum, hopefully I can plaguri.. I mean, get some inspiration from the color usage. :)

  2. Thanks all...

The 4 marbles were done with white dyed wax. It makes the contrast rather stark. The kitty is "Kitty". She doesn't like having a camera in her face but is the most laid back 'has to be a part of everything' cat I've had. Anyways, thanks for the kind words, I'll be gettig more practice as the word has gone out at work I make these things and the demand is pushing me into selling them on a more commercial scale. I'll see...

  3. Scan10.jpg: Not a very good picture of a few other marbled shapes.

Scan13.jpg: My attempt at a chunk candle. I don't have much luck with these. It's just me.

Scan15.jpg: Large collection of Marbles and layers

    Scan17.jpg: Obligatory "Cute Kitty" picture.

That's it. I'll post again in future if I do anything truely miraculous.

  4. Finally, these are my candles. Pardon me while I figure out the image stuff. It seems I can only add so many so I'll do 2 posts I spose.

These are marbles. Kind of. I make these myself and use powdered, liquid and chip dyes where appropriate. Lately I've been creating liquid shades by combining powdered primaries. It allows a wider range of marbling colors, like the orange pillar in these pictures. I make pillars and balls only from 3-5" balls and up to 12" pillars. I scent them only if there's a point. All pictured are unscented as 4 scented pillars like I make would drive you from the room. I'm still experimenting with methods and colors so I imagine they'll get better.

  5. "Is the e-Bay store the same thing as candlechem.com on the web? I know that one but never ordered from them."

Apparently, yes. The odd thing is, now that I've been to the web site, is their stuff is much cheaper on EBay. Website 4oz fragrance; 6.49. Same ragrance on EBay: 4.95. Wierd. I'd 100% recommend them for anything.

  6. "So they make you flee and you can't stand them?"

Oh yes. I don't make them for sale but the odd people I do give them to expect a scent that will kill the plants in the room and permeate a 12" thick concrete wall. Now that's a scented candle, and there's never any disappointment. I can't speak to the difference between the forementioned seller and Peaks but the price is right.

I have photos being developed and will post them in the gallery soon.

  7. I buy all my scents exclusively from CandleChem Company through EBay. So far, every scent I've tried in a 1lb candle almost drives you from the room. I've tried them in essential oil burners and they're almost unbearable.
