  1. the only problem with the high wattage warmers is that some of them get the wax over 180 degrees and all of your FO burns out. I had this happen to me - put my candle on a warmer and after an few times it stopped smelling, got out my handy dandy thermometer and it was getting somewhere around 183, enough to burn off your FO. So I've warned all of my customers that were buying the jar candles and using the candle warmers. Right now, I am using a coffee warmer, if it doesnt get too hot to drink, it isn't gonna burn off your FO.

  2. the one that I have a brain glitch on is melting the wax, adding the dye and getting ready to add the FO - but guess what I'm out of that particular FO - or don't have enoguth - and its ususally some weird color that you just couldn't use another FO in. My customers know my candles by color and anytime I have changed the colors on them they freak.

  3. thank you guys, this is really overwhelming me (and scaring me). One person I know I can work with becuase I used to work in her shop on the weekends. The other person is just someone who smelled my candles and wants to put them in her store. I guess I will have to put my thinking cap on and come up with a contract. :shocked2:

  4. OMG it would have to be Autumn Harvest - everytime i pour it I get a migraine - but it is one of my best sellers in the fall. I wonder why it is that if you absolutely hate a FO - why is it that it seems to stay in the air forever. When I walk in my house - I can only smell Autumn Harvest. Strange. My DH hates, and I mean hates, baby powder, but hey, its a good seller so I gotta pour it.

  5. I posted a thread a while back about wholesale accounts and a lot of you responded that it was worth it but to require minimums. What are your minimums, I know that everyone's will be different, but I guess I just need a starting point. I have one florist/gift shop ready to order now and I am supposed to meet with her this weekend and I want to be able to at least "act" like I know what I am doing. Thanks for all your help. ;)

  6. every party that I have had - I planned on doing a game - but as soon as they came in and started smelling candles - that was it. I never even get up and talk about my candles - they just walk in the door run to the setup and start smelling and stashing the ones they want. After they buy what they want - they start eating and visiting.

  7. thanks guys - i will be "unmolding" tonight :cheesy2: - hope all is well. On a brighter note - i figured after the hurricane and all the damage - the candles biz would be real slow - not so, since the hurricane, I have had 4 people book parties and some of my customers calling me and telling me that if it weren't for me - they would have been in the dark. That has totally shocked me and needless to say - I am very overwhelmed - got a lot of candles to make!!
