  1. I use the lilac from WSP and I love it. I'm a lilac freak and this smells so good. My youngest son detests the scent of lilac and he detests this FO from WSP, so that's a pretty good judge of how good it is too LOL

  2. Yeah I was hesitant too, because I made the mistake of using wax paper once... lol. Big woops! But I ran out of freezer paper one night, of course AFTER I had started my batch, and parchment was all I had. It worked so well I never went back! Its a little more $$ but its easier for me. I even made a pattern for my mold, and I pre-trace and cut out the parchment ahead of time so all I have to do is fold it and pop it in. The only downside is tape doesnt want to stick to parchment so its hard to tape down the edges if there is excess paper.

Excellent, I'll definitely be trying that :) thanks again

  3. I see you're in PA, if you're interested in some fused glass pendants made from "upcycled" beer bottles let me know, I would be happy to send a few to you :) I assure you they do not look like beer bottles anymore and unless you thought that might be a selling point, you don't have to mention it at all :)

  4. ohhh i have wanted to try this too! i wonder how they would turn out being in a pvc mold.... hmmm

I've done them in PVC, I did it wrong though I think LOL I stuck the whole loofa in then poured the soap over it, thinking I could just slice it later. It sliced, but it wasn't very clean because the loofa is pretty hard.

  5. There are two programs out that allow you to use basically any image and convert it to a cuttable file for use on the cricuts. If you have either of those you really don't need to invest in cartridges unless you want to.

I have I think 4 cartridges and I purchased those before I found the companion programs ( sure cuts a lot and/or make the cut ) they're both fantastic and you'd be amazed at everything you can do with the cricut once you have one of those programs. They both run about the same cost as one cartridge so well worth it.

  6. Just a tip for those using freezer paper... Parchment paper works just as well and is WAY easier to fold and cut.

Thank you for that tip :) I've been staring at the parchment paper for months and months wondering if it would work the same. I learned the hard way years ago that wax paper and freezer paper are NOT the same LOL so I was hesitant to try parchment paper !! Good to know it really works the same !

  7. I wonder if I can post it in the classifieds or would that be against the rules since it's not really pertaining to candle making?

You can certainly use the expression to make labels for your candles. It can also be used to create various types of packaging and decorations on your packaging...so while it may not necessarily be "wax, wicks, and the like" it can most definitely be used in a related way to candle and or soap making :)

I'm pretty new here, but I can't imagine why something of that nature wouldn't be allowed in the classifieds here.

  8. When using these, do you just continue until it no longer suds up and then toss the loofah piece?

That's pretty much what I do yes. I use the soap/loofah as a scrubby on it's own, when the soap is gone, I toss the loofah and grab a new one :)

  9. I also would like to know what cartridge you use to make your own soap boxes. I use my cricut expressions for tags, etc. but obviously from all the wonderful ideas given in the above posts...not nearly enough!

I don't use a cartridge for the boxes. I have a matchbox svg file and I use the make-the-cut software that works with the cricut. It allows you to basically create your own designs and cut anything you want...not just the stuff on the cartridges.

  10. Can you tell me how you make your own boxes with the Cricut? Is it for the box itself, or for decorations that go on it?

No, it's for the boxes. I use a "matchbox" type box, just made it large enough to hold my soaps and then cut them from cardstock on the expression.

I use the Make-The-Cut software for this, since I don't believe there are any cartridges for the cricut that would make the right size box.
