I use a parasoy blend and that works great. Paraffin is great. Straight soy can be difficult to get out of the silicone mold. What I would do with straight soy is spray the inside of the mold lightly with pam or some type of cooking oil. Don't use "mold release spray" because you will ruin your mold.
I don't like to put any wick holes in my molds so I use a wick pin (upside down) and keep the pin in place by straddling it with bamboo skewers.

I don't like to put holes in my molds because of premature ripping and the mold doesn't last as long. I use a wick pin and bamboo skewers to secure the wick. I pour the wax around the wick.
After insert the primed wick.
