  1. Which ones are you liking? If you don't mind sharing:)

Blueberry Pumpkin Patch, Chanel No 5, Oatmeal Cookie with icing, Strawberry strong, satsuma (though I think other supplier's versions are closer to the original), Chestnuts and brown sugar, Pink Sands & Banana Caramel Cupcake....so far so good on all of them.

  2. LJA, welcome to the board. I use Astrolite V exclusively for tarts and I get one pour with awesome throw. My only additives are scent and color. This wax is a little hard to find but very easy to work with since it comes in little pellets. I have bought it from Connie's Candles in Ohio.

Thank you!~ :) I just might check that one out too! I appreciate the help!

  3. I just ordered a TON of samples from them and most smell super weak in the bottles. Please tell me the scents bloom and throw well in wax. (Generally, I know there's a dud in every supplier's warehouse). Whats the general impression of their oils in here?:sad2:

  4. Vybar really only needs to be used to help bind the FO with the wax and only a few grains of vybar is usually necessary. I personally don't think it's a necessary additive with today's waxes and never use it. If I have a FO that won't bind with my wax, then I ditch the FO and I haven't had any FO's like that in over 10 years. There are way too many good FO's out there to bother with one that won't play nice with my wax. :cool2:

When I say it locks out your scent, it means just that.............your FO will leave no scent throw whatsoever, just like an unscented candle.

Thanks for all the great info guys!

  5. You need to remember that if you add too much vybar you will lock out your scent and you will get little to no throw for your tart. If you are not sure if your waxes have additives, treat them like they do, don't add vybar and test. Most of the waxes on the market now have everything you need in them and additives aren't necessary. Good luck! :cool2:

ACK!! I didnt know that. I was using straight paraffin and a container blend and 1 tsp PPO of vybar. Maybe I'll nix the vybar. In what way does the vybar lock the scent out? Curious. Thank you!

  6. Wax blends for tarts will be the death of me....

For those of you that mix a paraffin pillar wax with a container wax for tarts, are you also adding vybar? For instance, in a case like 1343, it doesn't have additives, but the container wax might - so is it necessary? OR....if the pillar wax you are using does have additives, would you still add more? Do any of you also add soy to a mix like this? I have tried combos til I wanna rip my hair out. I make a mean candle (I feel, anyway) but the throw on melts is very hit and miss. Working with the above waxes/combo now....the latest at a 50/50 ratio. I used WSPs Wildberry Scone and didnt cure it yet (I know...saved some to cure, as well) and it's just meh.

Help a girl out before I'm bald. ;) I'll seriously sell one of my children for any tricks, insider knowledge, secrets. I have two, I can part with one. :P TIA!
