  1. I'm new to candle making and I'm in the wick testing phase, I'm using IGI 4627 in a short little jelly jar with a 2.5 diameter. I've tried HTP 83 (didn't work) and have now moved on to ECO. I've used 10, (obviously too big) 8 (too Big) 6 (better but flame still too high I think) settled on a 4 but it keeps bending at the tip so I only get half of a melt pool. In every other aspect it's good. Does that mean it's a bit small? Can anyone suggest a wick that won't bend? The HTP did the same thing. I liked the ECO 6 and it did well but I thought the flame was a bit too high after a 4 hour test. Help please.

    Thanks in advance

  2. some allow you to turn it off. I have a My Weigh KD7000 (from oldwillknottscales) and I turned off the auto shutoff. I love the scale and use it for everything (kitchen, candles, soap, mailings).

That's the same scale I have. I feel silly now, I looked at the manual in an attempt to turn off the auto and it wont give me the display I need in order to shut it off. Any suggestions?

Never mind...Finally figured it out, of course like usual the issue was operator error!

  3. Can anyone tell me, is it possible to make lotion with fresh goat milk? I would like to give this a try and just sub milk for water but the make up of milk is different than water so I'm not sure, and the only recipes I have seen use powdered and not fresh. What about the preservative, would I need to change the type or the amount? Is the process any different?

    TIA

  4. I just made a small batch of these for the first time 2 days ago. I know they can take a few days to dry so my question is can I place them in a low oven for a bit to dry them out faster? Also can FO that has vanilla in it cause them to get little brown spots?

    TIA
