Irena, I don't know why, but my first thought was "sexy". Very nice.

Lovely! Great colors.

Of those choices, # 3 stands out the best. I do agree that your name needs to be either larger or bolder.

I heat then quickly cool in the freezer for about 15 minutes, then whip, chill, then whip, chill then whip.

I echo the quality of Tammy's vanilla beans. Her coops are excellent!
I infused my beans in jojoba oils for about 4 weeks. Lovely scented oil.

I don't use soy in anything, including food consumption. (That's just a personal preference because most soy is not on the GRAS list -- it's a non-food unless fermented.) I'm sure it would be okay to use soy lecithin in your recipe though, since 3% is the max used in any formulation.
Sorry, I can't give you my formula for the eye cream, but you can make one up by starting with the basics of how some body butters are made (no wax) and make your adjustments to get the consistency you desire. Select non-clogging butters and oils with anti-aging properties.
If you decide to try it, I'd be happy to give you some tips if you run into trouble or have questions.

Yes, but it may get grainy. Also, some folks are allergic to the latex in shea.

Hi EdenSong - my supplier did suggest soy lecithin...... how do you find the end result with this?
It's tricky, but you can do it. It does offer a nice feel to the product. I don't use soy in anything. I'd recommend sunflower lecithin.
You could just make an anhydrous moisturizer with butters and oils. I make a light eye cream without water or wax and it's one of my better formulations.

I could be wrong, but doesn't olive ewax have hydrogenated oils in it?Hi AlanThanks - my supplier suggested "organic olive e-wax" which I might try - any comments?
cheers
I use lecithin as my emulsifier.

lol -- I told Samantha the same thing on the dish. And there are EOs that can be added for the warming effect.

You're most welcome. I just hope the balm works for your DD. I also think you'll find the soap nuts to really help.Edensong-Thanks, I got my package with the balm for my daughter. And thank you so much for the extras you threw in there...

Be sure and check out the link I PM'd you, too!

Does your microwave have a power/heat control? When I've used glass in the micro, I always set it on a low power and do it for short bursts. No problem breaking glass.

You're welcome!

Yep, it is used as a PH adjuster. I prefer to use citric acid or TEA if PH adjustment is needed.
I've used citric acid or ACV -- but what's TEA?
-
Jamie, I PM'd you. It's all finished and setting up.

Oh yes, I definetly plan on having them tested. I'm still tweaking the formula so it's just perfect though. My cousin works there so that was my in for it.

Put the funk between Grand and Railroad and get movin' lol.
:laugh2:For some reason, this made me think of the old cowboy song "Rollin', Rollin', Rollin', Get Your Doggie's Movin'" Or whatever the words were.

They're quite wonderful and are especially great for folks with sensitivities.

Yes you are. Thanks. I've looked at cutters at Michael's, but it did seem like you'd have to use them upside down in order to align them properly. On the bottom of the cutter it is open so you can see where you are cutting. Pretty much I print out my labels and then use the cutter upside down so I can line it up with what I have printed out. I hope I'm explaining that correctly :smiley2: -
I'm sure you can. Almond oil has a shorter shelf life, too, so I think jojoba would be better anyway.Could I add Jojoba oil instead of almond oil? I have friends that have to stay away from almond oil. ThanksThis makes a little over 2 oz. The tubes hold about .15 oz, so it should fill between 7 and 10 -- depending on your tubes.
I like to work in percentages and don't use flavor oil, so this is how I converted it:
16% - .33 oz (2 tsp) candelilla wax
8% - .16 oz (1 tsp) mango butter
75% - 1.5 oz (3 Tbsp) almond oil (or oil of your choice)
1% - .02 oz (1/8 tsp) Vit E
Probs w/grainy body butter

I'd have to disagree. You can get rid of the grains. You might have to reheat it, but you can get rid of them.
