  1. Maybe we should consider a drum coop??? I'll look into drum pricing. for coconut & palm.

Im thinking that this is about the best way to go about getting oils/butters..getting together with other soapers to pull together an order..itll save on shipping costs..but also makes sense environmentally..all I know is this sucks :(

  2. I seem to keep going back to CF because it seems like a one stop shop..other places seem to only have some but not all base oils..

though prices are going up across the board it seems :(

I cant log onto Oils by nature to compare prices-the website said they are doing inventory..

  3. maybe we need to have a co-op from Columbus supply..:)

    i lov tallow soaps...

if there was enough intrest..i would buy a 50ib box ..and co-op it..

THANK YOU!! for mentioning that ..I NEED more palm , coconut AND cocoa butter :)

  4. i agree with the 4-6 wks cure time..as they are better in every way..

I have used my own, in 2 wks..just because I couldn't wait to try a new scent..but I would NEVER give to anyone until they are cured at least 4 wks..

I also would not sell soap, and tell them not to use it until it is cured..

ya know..I see this a lot where soapers sell their soaps with a 'do not use by' date on them..and I personally dont see WHY they do this..

I mean I get that time at my house - time at your house..tomatoe,tomato.. but REALLY whats the rush??!!

  5. theres a supplier about an hour or so away from me..their shipping is about double what I paid when something was shipped from Washington state..go figure!!

shipping hurts EVERYTIME!! especially when its about half of what I am purchasing..I mean I get that theres a cost involved but holy cannoli!!

its like taking a band aid off though..I just throw everything in at one time and just take it at once..

Im hoping to start making some soaping friends locally and maybe splitting some shipping costs..but I havent met any friendly soaping buddies yet :(

  6. be sure to keep a soap notebook also..that way you can track what you like and how you got there..

what are you NOT liking about the soaps that you are making now??

I dont think theres a 'perfect' soap recipe because what is good for one isnt necessarily good for another..

  7. Thanks for your reply!

I am really new to soapmaking, I don't know what palm is??

just wondering..you are using palm but have no idea what palm is??

wait..I just reread you said it was just olive oil that you used?? if so..it could be lye..have you tried using the bar??
