I've been making container candles for a few months, using 4627 wax and 16 oz. apothecary jars. when i make lighter color candles the melt pool turns a brownish color when it cools and doesn't look very good. A 4630 wax candle did the same thing. is this normal for this wax when you don't use a lot of dye?

For You Experts
I'm kinda new to this and have been trying 4627 and 4630 waxes in 8 and 16 oz. jars. when i pour my candles i get low spot in the center of my candles. not real bad but i don't like it. I heat the jars and try to pour at the recommended temps and let them cool in a cooler slowly. any suggestions?
Thanks Ronzo

I've made a couple test candles using 4627 and candle science applejack and peel FO and i'm having trouble finding a wick. they are 8oz jelly jars the rest of my candles i have decent burn with HTP wicks the ECO's seem to smoke a little. the flame on the applejack candles with HTP wick is really small even with HTP 93's. I've tried HTP 73,83,93 and CD 65, flame to small. With an ECO 8 wick it's smokey. anyone else have this trouble/ I'd like to fing a wick I really like this scent.

As a relatively new candle maker I've tried several container waxes and like 4627 the best so far. You candle Masters that use 4627 what brand of wicks do you like best. I've tried CD, HTP and ECO so far and am leaning toward HTP so far, but I'm wondering what others like for this wax.
Thanks So Much Ronzo

with a container candle how long should it take for the melt pool to reach the side of the container. I understand the variables, wick, wax etc. , but what do you shoot for? the 3 to 4 hour recommended burn time or less?
Thanks Ronzo:confused:
