  1. Hi all! We're new to using palm wax. We were given about 800lbs of palm wax when a local wedding company went out of business. Were used to using paraffin, so we did everything the same, as when we pour with paraffin... except our candles would not come out of the mold. So we tried again using a little cooking spray in some votives/tarts -- those came out -- so we used it in a larger mold and none came out again. What are we doing wrong? Any hints or suggestions that could help us? We don't want the wax to go to just being used for container candles!

    PLEASE HELP US!

    THANKS!

  2. Thank you so much for sharing! I'd like to consider myself a good candle maker and just came across 1000lbs of palm wax at a VERYYYy good price... so I couldn't pass it up. I had never used it before, as it was a little more expensive. You have cleared up a lot for me, however! If I could bother you with one more question, since you seem to be the resident palm wax user here... would there be any reason that you can think of that a palm candle will not come out of the mold? I did not use mold release spray (was not sure if i could??). I tried freezing... and nothing. I had to melt the wax back out of the mold! Any insight is apprecuated it!

  3. Here are some pillars and layered votives I've been working on.

Some of them are a bit "out there" but oh well.......I like different, lol!

I am OBSESSED with your pillars that have an almost tie-dye effect... any hints on how I could make one for myself?

  4. the first ones are my first attempts at the "wave" layered rustic AND layered rustic...all scented lovespell

the second one is my second attempt at the "wave" layered rustic... orange, black, and white... unscented

the third are my first attempt as mottled candles... the blue is scented rose and the yellow scented sunflower

the last is my first attempt at the tilted layered rustics. i had a lot of trouble with the large square! it took forever to set up! these are scented calla lily garden... probably my favorite scent!

Thanks for looking! any helpful pointers or tips on how to make these better, let me know! :cheesy2:

  5. Very nice coloring but I can't tell if your candles are textured or if it's the coloring that makes them look that way. I really like the combined colors. Please don't hesitate to ask questions as that is how we all learn. Good luck with your future candle making.

it's actually kinda like chunk candles, except the chunks are the length of the mold.

  6. Hey all! You all make lovely candles! We (My boyfriend and I) have been making candles for ourselves, family, and friends for a few months and thought we'd share some of our latest. We're still trying to get the hang of some of the techniques. So, bare with us when we ask questions! :)

    Thanks a lot for looking!
