  1. I have tried everything with my wax to get it to adhere to the glass. Sometimes it's different than others. I know it's a temp issue but, this last time instead of being splotchy, the adhesion was like lines. I can't figure out how to stop the wax from pulling away like this. Well at least until summer gets here and it's warmer. Any other users figured out a solution? I'm about to switch to tins!

How are you cooling your candles? You might want to try putting them back in the boxes to cool. I just stack box on top of box and I usually leave them overnight and then finish them the next day.

Are you talking about jump lines when you say lines? If so, I notice I have more issues with jump lines since I have been using the turkey fryer. My fryer just doesn't keep a nice even temperature and my only choices are 175 or 200, which is too hot and too cold so the wax temp fluctuates from 180 to 200. I found I just have to watch the temp real close to know if I need to pour quickly or let my wax cool for a bit before I pour.

  2. When you purchase from a supplier, THEY have fronted the money to purchase the oils, THEY pay the overhead for storing those oils, waiting for YOU to purchase them, and basically have their money sitting in oils until someone buys it. You pay for the convenience of only having to purchase what you need, when you need it. And, as I said previously... suppliers are NOT in this for just fun and games... it is a BUSINESS and they are trying to make a profit as well, JUST LIKE most of you.

This irks me! Guess what? That's what we do as candle makers too! We front the money for the supplies, we are guessing at what our customers will buy, we have our money sitting in oils, supplies and finished product. It's all part of being in business. We can't continue to raise our prices, so we eat it. And then, when something like this comes along, we are faced with making a decision, to either eat it or look elsewhere. Sooner or later, you have to look elsewhere, because the other alternative is to do what we hope we will never have to do, close our business!

I love Stacy's oils, but to be honest, they are on the expensive side and I will really have to work the numbers to continue carrying her oils or look elsewhere.

  3. Schmoopie, I had the exact same thing happen to me several months ago. They refunded me a few dollars, big deal! They claimed that it is because they automatically add on $20 per UPS for residential orders and their fuel surcharge. I did end up ordering from them one more time and the shipping had came down, but only because I phoned the order in and requested them to use NON hundred weight because they said it would be cheaper, but I can't chance it. I now use candlescience because there is no guess work involved on how much they will charge for shipping, and their customer service can't be beat.

  4. I ordered in september of last year and never got my order. Paypal found in my favor but Jenny(the owner) of the site is smart and she changes her paypal address every once in a while so I didn't get a refund. I don't understand how she can continue to rip people off for this length of time. If you check out the BBB site there are complaints there on her too. She did reply to me in October and said she would refund my money.. what a joke, of coarse she never responded again.
