Rainbow Gardens, at the mouth of Ogden Canyon, has a big Yankee display. If you haven't been there, do go, if only to see the place. Take a friend and have lunch there, and split a Mormon muffin with honey butter.

That's darling. She'll love it.

maybe run the water on hot until it cools off, then let it heat up and do it again

Please type us your notes, because I love their pink sugar and am curious if they have other fos that strong.

I prolly get my things from them as fast as you do, and I'm in Utah. I've always been happy with them.

He's darling

Well, that's lovely! Very 'Holiday Festive'!

Simple fix.
Don't let the bottom wax harden completely.
That is what you did wrong.
Your bottom wax pulled away from edges which in turn left the top wax run over.
Just let the bottom harden up enough to get a good top but still be stuck to edges. Then pour top layer.
Just last night, I did these for the 1st time. I'd poured 6 diff colored tarts and when I was done, I had some extra left over of one color. The 1st tarts I'd poured were just starting to get a skin on top and I thought, what the hey - I'll pour my leftovers on them. When cooled, they had a perfect division of the two colors, but were just as smooth as could be. Happy accident, considering how I usually have things happen.

Don't know about the waxes, but Peak's ps is awesome

They're lovely! I'd buy 'em (that's high praise).

may be an oxygen/atmospheric pressure issue - less at higher elevations, more at sea level, where her house was. bigger wick the higher you go. smaller wick for her house. good luck working with that one :smiley2:

That is just beautiful!

Pink Sugar from Peak's is amazing.

How much are you selling that kitty candle in the last couple pics for? I wannit.

I'd be pissed. They'd better give you next year free. jeez

that's darling - love the broom!

I don't know anything about them, but people here put molds in the freezer for an hour-ish, and sometimes the candle will shrink & release. Might your mold do that?

I believe you did a good thing. Did you send her a full size product?
Yes
I just recently kinda did the same thing...only I used the q-tip test. Dipped a q-tip in a few scents, put each one in it's own zip lock polypro bag and let him pick which one he liked. He wanted something that was fresh smelling.
I know that the oils smell different in product...but it gave him a good idea of what they are like.
I'm all for keeping customers happy.
Me, too. I gave full-sizers thinking it was my last good chance to make her pleased, and if it still didn't work, I couldn't really have done better. If nothing else, she'll hopefully feel I took her seriously.

I felt the same on both counts. Brought up to her how Sandalwood's often used as a scent for men's products, and wondered if there was a connection with apple cider vinegar she could be smelling. Biggest question, tho, is did I do right in giving her new ones that were sweetened a bit? Don't know, offhand, what would be best to do. Should I have just left it with the explanation?

A customer says my NG Apple Cinnamon fo smells like vinegar; I smell apples and cinnamon. She says the Sandalwood Vanilla fo smells like men's aftershave. I smell sandalwood and good vanilla. I concocted my own versions of both with other fo's - straight app, cinn, sand, & vani, and sent them for her opinion, free of charge. I made the app-cinn sweeter than NG's, and put more vanilla-scent in the other. All the fo's used are less than 4 months old and in good storage. They smell great to me. I think she was being truthful. Would you have handled this differently? Thanks for any advice~
