Thanks all! I am just having a SUPER hard time...I so badly want to do this for them but for whatever reason, my brain is lacking in creativity! I have always had issues with orange anything in 464 so finally gave up on finding anything.
The Dr. that runs the non-profit is very soft, feminine and spunky...so wanted something she could relate to. When she told me she loved orange blossom and vanilla, I thought alright! BUT she also loves cleaner things too like fresh clean scents.
The horse farm am not sure I can sell cedar, straight pine, leather etc. I never have been able to sell any of this stuff like others do. My people usually go for the food, fresh laundry scents and some florals. It's like a no win situation. Plus, the horse farm is located in Odessa, FL so too much woodsy would not "be them"...if that makes any sense.
So I need a pretty clean scent, and a Florida Horse scent....AGGGH! I love doing this for people, but at the same time....feel like I let them down if its not perfect for them!

You know I saw this one too and thought about asking...I wondered how well it does! Thanks for bringing it up!

Ok, I am looking to make two candles for two different nonprofit organizations that help veterans. One is a therapeutic horse farm and the other is a Traumatic brain injury organization that helps caregivers of veterans.
I have looked ALL morning and just can't seem to think of anything that screams either one. The Dr that runs the TBI org likes Orange blossom scents but have never used it or anything with it in it, in soy. I am using 464 Golden. Any suggestions on Orange blossom or mix with it in it?
The horse farm has me stumped but don't want to do like hay, or grass...its need to be fresh, clean but something that a lot of people would order. The purpose is for me to donate 100% of the profits from both of these.
Any suggestions from you scented magicians and experts would be appreciated!!!

Thank you Candybee...I do have the mistletoe, but am thinking they are wanting Eucalyptus as in plants in your home. It's hard to describe but one lady said like the dried Euca that you have in wreaths or floral depts. There have been many describe it that way.
I compared Sinus Relief and Eucalyptus from NG this morning, and besides a little mint kick to the Sinus, they smell pretty much the same. Is Peak's a medicinal or more floral scent?
Oh and I loved the Euca and mint one from CS but it didn't seem to throw that great in 464 soy. It got a little lost to me. I sold some but not enough to keep in stock.
thanks for the help!!!

Ok...So I have tons of people asking for Eucalyptus. I personally don't like the smell, but its not about me. I was going to order from BC and saw that NG had one with really awesome reviews. So I tried to save a little and ordered from NG.
Unfortunately, it came in and smells just like their sinus relief candle which sells fantastically for me...BUT the eucalyptus I was thinking would be more along the lines of the floral/real life stuff. This has a strong medicinal scent like Vic's vapor rub. I hate to have two of the same similar scents. Any suggestions on where to get a good Eucalyptus or has anyone tried BCs?

I got mine too and agree on Pumpkin Pie being "off". It's nothing directly bothering me, just doesn't smell right. I really really like the Apple Harvest. It smells like their Macapple with a kick. I didn't care for their Christmas Hearth and it smells eerily like their Hollyberry.

Ebay. I can sometimes get them cheap. You have to look them up under six cavity plastic and it pulls them up. However, I checked last night and the only listing is too much. I bought mine from KY because I had other stuff and they were at .34 each for a 100.
NG sells them as well but think they are higher. HTH

Hi all-
I know there is a post for fo's that throw in soy but I am having some awful luck trying to find a good cake or buttercream scent that not only throws but also smells delicious. Like a REAL cupcake or cake.
I find the buttercreams I tried from NG and CS are bitter and really un-appetizing and the cake scents I have tried are all similar.
KY has a beeeeeuuuutiful birthday cake. If I have wedding favors or special occasion, its the first one people want made with a new name to reflect occasion. It has to be my number one seller. I never could sell buttercream from NG either..it had sorta a funky smell to it.
Also, I know a lot of people haven't mentioned it...but NG's Coconut cream pie is to die for. Man what an awesome three room filler/house in 464 wax. It's cake like, with a little coconut in it. It's also a top seller for me as well.

I use BC's and its really nice. It has a huge throw in wax. It smells like the real thing with a kick of rum to it. Love it.
-
I use Ky's and man oh man, what a huge throw in soy. I don't believe I could ever try anyone else's!!
-
Aww man! I need to place an order, but trying to keep a budget. I think that apple harvest sounds awesome!
I like the sound of the Christmas one, but fireplace scented stuff just doesn't sell at all for me. You even mention it and people turn their nose.

Here are my favs and HUGE throwers...like house fillers. This is some of my fall and holiday list
Blk Rasp and Vanilla
Cheesecake (it may seem light in your candle but wait til it burns-also very versatile to mixing)
Christmas Cravings
Sweetheart Rose
Smoke and Odor remover is a number one seller
Pumpkin apple Butter
Mrs. Claus Cookies ROCKS and I sell it all year long under a new name for spring and summer
Downy april fresh and clean breeze
Trick or Treats (I used another name) and its freaking awesome.
Sugar cookies
Monkey farts
Pink Sugar is WOWZER on throw
Spiced gumdrops
Snow Angels
Satin Sheets
I could go one forever......

I use NG's and it sells like crazy! During the Fall/Winter, I narrow down my scents to bring in the holidays ones...MF has to be the one fruity summery one that sells all year long. I love NG's and have excellent throw in 464 soy, and ecosoya. I like it on its own, but tweek it just a little with a tad of strawberry jam from BC and NG's fresh picked peach. Just a hit of each. This mellows out that medicinal smell, and when it burns...you always smell something different.

well... sex on the beach is a drink...
vodka, peach schnapps, cranberry juice, and orange juice... so you could go with any of those...
fruit coctail... fruity martini... peach coctail...
but honestly, nobody has ever been concerned with the name, lol. I have some pretty straight laced buyers.. some that are LDS and have never had a drink (or much sex:laugh2:) in their life... and they love SOTB!!
Same here...how about Fun in the Sun?

lol Oh man... I know, Snowman Balls... I have a dirty mind too.
I have Reindeer Poop and Elf Sweat.. lol Gotta love the names!
what does the elf sweat smell like? The name just turns me off for some reason. However, I know the funnier the names...they fly out the door. No one even cares what they smell like! Do people really buy it under that name or do you have to change it?
-
I just saw that too...the only thing is? I wondered why they didn't call that Snowman one something a little different? Perhaps I have a dirty mind because I went ewwww when I saw the name "Snowman Balls". I mean, if it smells good...it might be a great seller! Reindeer poop and a couple other ones I have named fly off the shelves.

I purchased several items from save on scents and they were horrible! I purchased Marijuana ( cops and DEA love these) and it was greasy horrible mess. Also purchased a couple of standard faves like Butt naked. It was like putting scented water into your wax. Don't waste your money on this company.
-
I love love CS's Cranberry Marmalade and its a huge seller for me every year....I usually keep it on hand throughout the year because I have some who want it all year long.
-
I sell an ungodly amount of Caramelized Pralines during the Fall and Christmas seasons. It's a good one and I work with soy...the throw is fantastic. It's got a little bit of everything in it. Definitely worth checking into if you can catch the .99 oz sale they have. Sign up for their newsletter if you haven't already.

I haven't ever ordered from them before, but I want to try a few oils they have. I know some of these have already been reviewed, but it doesn't hurt to ask for a second opinion, right? So, if anyone has any input on these, or any other NG must haves, or must NOT haves, I would love to hear your opinions. I'd especially love input on their performance in soy/parasoy and/or their lasting power in tarts. Thanks!
Mermaid Kisses (Is it true that this is the same as WSP's South Pacific?)
Beach Daisies (Hoping this is like Sun and Sand)
Bermuda Triangle BIG seller for me
Blue Hawaiian
Capri Olivo
Caribbean
Chocolate Con Churros Could not get this one to burn right and it had something in it that no one could pinpoint what it is.
Doodle Bug .... a very fun fragrance....kids love it!
Denim
Fresh Cut Grass SELL OUT
Frsh Outdoors
Hawaiian Suntan
Home Sweet Home (Wondering if this is as good as BCN's) I could not give this one away
Hillbilly Homebrew (similar to MC?)
Indian Summer
Kiwi Watermelon
Mango Peach Salsa
Biolage Type Awesome in soaps-chemical smell in burning BUT smells just like the shampoo
Cucumber Melon Type (having a hard time finding a good one!) I have the cucumber cantaloupe and its freaking awesome. It's a steady seller in soaps and candles with excellent throw.
Paradise Reef
Peach Magnolia Raspberry
Pikaki (trying to find the wonderful smell in the Hawaiian breeze!) Smells just like the flowers very strong!
Pink Watermelon
Sweet Sixteen
Twilight in the Woods
Vaniglia del Madagascar
Wild Wild West
Yacht Club... Fabulous fragrance. I think it will make it to my best seller list this year![/quote]
I have only tried a few from your list. But I can vouch for the very good customer service of NG. Very professional, well packed shipments, nice products and quick shipping. A+++ in my book! HTH

Hi its me with the crazy sister to your customer! lol Hmmm now that makes me worry. I only have Lavender from CS and its strong. I am just worried over which PP to use. I am looking for a pumpkin pie to mix among the suppliers....good to know I am not the only one who is asked to make this crazy concoction. Personally hoping this whole aromatic thing supposedly helping to enhance the love life will work....would have a house smelling like it and hubby near by!!! Hahahahaha!
-
Did the customer say it was mixed or layered??? It does not sound appealing to me, but I think it would be better to mix them then layer them. That is a toughy.
mixed....I thought the same and asked her but she wants a combination scent through the whole thing...major yuck!
-
I use Pumpkin Souffle from CandleScience. It is sweet instead of spicy (to me, anyway). I could send you an ounce if you want to try it. Just PM me. Not sure about this combo, though. Who knows, maybe its a match made in heaven!
Deb
I have some of that and its really nice....thank you for the offer though! I know....does this mixture make you screw up your face and give you the heebie jeebie shakes as it did me? I like the lavender but when I make it I get such bad headaches from it and my eyes water. So I can only imagine the two together!!

I read somewhere about a q-tip test. Then you put those in a bag and come back and sniff...however, I have sniffed a lot of oils in the last four years so may be a little !!!
I do mix my own caramel apple, smores, apple stuff. I just add little by little until I get the right scent I am looking for. I usually start with half ounce of base like apple and work on up from there. I use the droppers with measurements so I can know how much I use and write it down.
I created a strawberry cheesecake that freaking rocks, so it is worth your while to play a little and test if you feel the urge.
