  1. Any thoughts on why the reed diffuser sticks would get a type of crystalization on them? I'm not sure if that is a correct way to describe the way the reeds look. I made it so long ago that I don't even remember the % of fragrance to base I used. Perhaps, I put in too much fragrance oil.

Has anyone ever had this happen? Maybe it's the fragrance oil. I do know that some fragrance oils can get that way and need to be warmed up. I only made one for my personal use and didn't plan on ever selling them.

edited.....I used Just Scent base. I am considering WSP next time I place an order.

Sorry...........for asking this question on your post candlelady. As soon a I typed and posted I realized I should of not.

    Thanks

  2. I love the black lid with your jar. I've used a similar type jar that came with a gold lid. I never liked my jars.......perhaps I would of liked them better with a black lid. Would you care to share where you purchased the style of jar and lid?

However, your colors and wax is what really makes the jar look very expensive. :smiley2:

  3. I make soy candles...dye free.

I want to make a candle color that is similar to the look of a grubby cinnamon color for fall. I have seen candles made grubby in old tin cans that look like the color I want to have the wax resemble.

Mahogany, brown, butterscotch and burgundy. These are colors I thought might be a good start.

Does anyone have any suggestion of a few color combinations to try?

I don't even know if I can get a soy candle to look grubby. :laugh2:

  4. www.puritan.com

Type diffuser in the search box.

This one is not for a USB. It's electric.

I just got one of these type electric diffusers. It has a stone that gets hot with a small metal removeable tray that sits ontop of the stone. Very easy to change scents. I just wipe the tray with regular alcohol and a cotton pad. I got some lavender essential oil for use in my bedroom. I turn it on about an hour before I go to bed. Just a few drops and it scents the entire room. I turn if off when I turn out the lights. I feel that I am sleeping better with the lavender......or maybe it is in my mind...oh well, I am sleeping better. :rolleyes2

Most local health food stores have them with the essential oils. I have not tried my candle fragrances yet. I am going to order some DPG to mix with the fragrance oils.

I had seen the Aroma Stone on other sites. But, it is alot more money. www.naturesgift.com

  5. Thanks Barbara.......I will google it.

I think I will give it a try this fall. The lye part of soap scares me a little bit. I know I would just need to wear protective eye/clothing.

I am going to attempt a sugar scrub. Currently I use Clinique Sparkle Skin Body Exfoliating Cream. It is wonderful.....but expensive. It has a cooling menthol type feeling. Hard to describe, but similar to a peppermint soap feeling. If anyone get's a chance stop by the Clinique counter and see if you can get a free sample to test. I got a free sample with my gift with purchase. Maybe someone on here makes a scrub that is similar.

  6. Any preference on a supplier for the incense sticks?

I have several 1 oz. sample bottles of oils that have been discontinued by the supplier. After seeing this post......thought it would be a good way to use up the discontinued samples.

Any thoughts on how many incense stick 1 oz. of fragrance would make?

Does anyone have a tip on the best way to soak the sticks with the DPG and fragrance?

  7. The Candlemakers Store has Spice Cupboard. However, they don't have scent descriptions online. You would have to call the company for it. I don't think that would be it based on the "Spice".

How would you describe the scent?

Perhaps someone here might recognize something similar by your description.

Could it be a butterscotch brulee type with some carmel.
