  1. I placed an order about 2 weeks into December, never heard a thing. I've tried to e-mail her about the order, and no response to that e-mail. I'm sorry if she is having problems, but it would be nice to at least know. Perhaps if she would at least post something on her website then we would know.

  2. Hi Everybody,

I have a huge problem and need your help. I usually use Fresh and Clean from Heartfelt Candle Supply, had a little left and tried to order from her and she is out of stock (not marked on the website) and she doesn't know when she is getting it back in. My dilemma is that I have a fundraiser that has ordered it and I need to finish up with this fundraiser. Does anybody know of any supplier that has something very close to her Fresh and Clean that I could substitute? If not, does anybody have any Fresh and Clean from Heartfelt that they are willing to part with so I can finish this fundraiser up?

    Thanks so much.

  3. I use soy 415 and bought my Glass Glow Palm Wax from Candle Science. I wasn't sure if anybody was adding any additional additives such as cottonseed oil, coconut oil, etc. I'm planning on trying to do a blend of 90% soy and 10% palm to see what these look like.

As far as looks, the jar had what looked like major frosting (but of course I know this comes from the palm), but not just frosting all over, big areas of frost, then other areas looked pretty good. The melts ended up having more the look of palm wax in the clamshells but not all the way palm wax look. Boy, did that make any sense!!

My overall goal is to try and get a good looking candle, if possible, out of this.

Any help would be really appreciated.

  4. Hi There,

I've been making candles soy blend for about 7 years now and wanted to try the palm/soy mixed. Well last night I tried 80% soy 20% palm and this morning the jar looks terrible. The melts don't look much better. Could anybody give me advice on if they blend and how it went for them. I'm wondering if there are other addivitives you use. Thanks so much for any help.

  5. Chele,

Thanks for your input on this. I've been at this for 7 years and been using soy/joy for 4 years and at my wit's end. Besides the fact that the joy is now up to $81 a box, the inconsistencies are too many to keep the ratio the same each time. I'm glad to hear that you are trying something else with soy. I'm planning on starting the testing after the holiday season is over and any information I obtain, I'll be glad to pass on.

  6. Hi Everybody,

I'm probably in the same boat as alot of you out there that use Bluegrass FOs. I'm in desperate need of their Hot Blueberry Muffins and of course they are out of stock of it and we certainly all know we don't know when things are coming back in. Does anybody have any input as to who has a great Blueberry Muffins that can compete with theirs. TIA

  7. Here is an idea, although I live in Michigan but I've shipped to California and Tennessee and haven't had any problems with this. Go to any of your local veterinarians or perhaps doctors. When they get medicines in their office that have to be refrigerated they come in a styrofoam cooler that is inside of a cardboard box. They end up throwing these away in my area, so I just take them and use them for that. I do know that the boxes I can get aren't extremely big, but so far I've never had a problem with anything melting. HTH.

  8. Hi Everybody,

I'm pulling my hair out trying to figure this out. I have a group that wants to use 4th of July theme for a fundraiser. Besides doing the usual, red, white and blue layered candle, does anybody have any ideas as to what I could do with this? I've been searching for 4th of July containers, so far no luck, then tried star containers, still no luck. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

  9. Hi There,

Check at a local veterinarian's office and ask them if they get shipments of their medicines in styrofoam coolers. My husband is a vet and he saves all the boxes for me that their medicine comes in. The styrofoam cooler is inside of a cardboard box. I use these to ship during the summer months and my candles stay as cool as can be. The only downside is you can't fit a huge amount inside, but at least you know they will get there without melting. Nice way to recycle too, otherwise at my husband's clinic, they throw them out. HTH

  10. I have two of the electric turkey fryers by Masterbuilt, and yes that is correct that the heating element is inside the pot. Of course you just have to use common sense when heating it up. I use a blend of two waxes and it pot has its own individual wax so I usually set the heating degrees different on both pots. It holds alot of wax and makes life so much easier when you are busy pouring. Nice thing too is that the outside of the pot is just warm (not hot like Presto Pot) so if you have little ones around, you don't have to worry about them and their little hands. I've had mine for about 1 year now and wouldn't do this without them. If I can answer any other questions about them, please let me know and I'll try and help.

  11. I have been getting frosting, cracking and the little white specks on top of my candles after they had set up too. What is going on with this? It is so frustrating that they are saying nothing has changed when in fact all of us know it has and now here we are in the busiest of seasons and left to deal with this mess. How discouraging!!

  12. I don't post very often because I don't feel I have much to contribute, but I wanted to let you know that I own two of the Surf n Turf cookers and love them!! I used to use the Presto Pots and switched over about a year ago and have not been disappointed. The Surf n Turf melts the wax quite quickly (when I plug it in and it is 3/4 full it takes about 1/2 hour). I am just very cautious to not turn the heat up too high and I don't leave them plugged in when I'm not home. So, if you are asking if they are worth it, my answer would be absolutely. Last year I was able to get mine on clearance at Target, but I don't know if they carry them anymore.

If I can help with any questions, let me know.
