Could it be candle nose? I had a tealight warmer going with a melt in it that had been burned through 3 or 4 tealights. I noticed I couldn't smell it, so blew it out, figuring I'd replace it. The doorbell rings, and its the neighbor, he never even stepped inside, and the first thing he said was "WOW your house smells soooo good!!" The warmer was around a corner and about 15-20 feet from the door. I was just so used to the smell that I couldn't smell it at all.

Guess I just like the slightly rounded top, they look more professionally done. I can look at a votive and tell if there was a second pour, because the second pour leaves a small lip around the edge. I made votives for 4 years, using just about every wax under the sun, and I always took the time for the second pour.:rolleyes2 I'm just too picky I guess. That's why I'm here looking for votives instead of at the store.

When I was making them, I always did a second pour, made a much prettier candle. I went to a new soy candle shop recently, and the votives looked awful. I could tell she didn't do a second pour on them.

I am interested in soy or palm wax. Something with a good scent throw. I am no longer making candles, but want some good handmade ones. I do not want candles made with Ecosoya PB or the JS blends.

I tried making tarts with this, but they take a lot longer to melt in the tart warmer than using the votive blend. I would not really recommend this wax for wickless candles because of the higher mp.

Frosting seems to be minimal for me if I add the dye ( I use liquid dye) at a high temp (around 190) and stir well. I think the cracking issues you have may be due to cooling too fast. Try warming your molds before pouring, and or covering with a box while they are setting up. I have a cookie sheet lined with paper towels, put the molds on these, in the oven at 200 and take them out and set up to pour just before I am ready to pour. Keep my house at about 72 degrees most of the time.

You need to be in control of your own business. YOU need to decide which scents, jars, wax, etc that you will offer, not let some dingbat play mind games with you. If she thinks she can get it cheaper somewhere else, let her go for it. Set your boundaries and stick to them. (this is also important in personal relationships, parenting, etc) Don't let the turkeys get you down!!

When I sold home party, the hostess got 20% of her party sales in free product, and a half price item for every $100 in sales.

You can look up party games on the internet, if you want to play them, usually its a good idea to at least give away a door prize, maybe a votive in a flowerpot holder or something like that. If anyone books a party from her, she should also get something, like $15 more free product.

For a lighter green, I start with yellow, then add darker green to it just a touch at a time. I use a toothpick to put just a small tinge of green into the yellow to come up with the color I want. I have been able to get lime green and also a nice grassy green this way. ( I used yellow and hunter green)

You may want to try adding the FO at a higher temp, I add mine at around 175, so it can blend in with the wax.

Because container wax may not come out of the molds very easily. If you are pouring votives straight into votive holders such as the flower pot you could use the container wax.

If you want to get over your obsession with wet spots, just head to a Yankee Candle store. I was in one today. WOW!! I have NICE candles compared to theirs!! Huge wet spots on every candle, and also lots of air bubbles on the candle tops, the dye wasn't mixed in well on most, etc. Basically, very ugly candles, I was shocked!! The wet spots will show up even later on when you have made the perfect candle, then two weeks later....wet spots. so basically my advice is get over it, you really can't fix it.

WOW GREAT JOB!! Really like the green ones!!

I am just wondering if you would recommend using something other than liquid dye for a 70/30 blend, or just soy in general, seems when I use blue liquid dye, just 2 drops pp, for a light denim blue, I always seem to get frosting issues. Anyone else notice this??

Peaks is one of my favorites, haven't been disappointed in any of their scents yet, Millcreek is pretty good too, I really like her blackberry sage, its different than all the others I've smelled, more blackberry and less sage. Alabaster has some good ones, and I also have tried a few of Just Scent. but overall, I'd rate Peaks #1 and MillCreek #2 so far. I'd also like to try RA for their Designer type fragrances, but haven't so far. Any reviews on these?

I use the tart warmers from Jackel, and also have one from Home and Garden Party. They are the tealight kind. I like em better, since the tealight will go out after about 4 hours, and I don't have to remember to turn it off!!

My tart molds are 1 oz, and I think that would be a pretty standard size.
