  1. The no shipping special ends tonight. Gotta figure out what I need, but fast! :undecided I know I need some Pumpkin Pie, Halloween Spice, Iced Gingerbread, and Winter. Wish they still had the Frosted Snowdrops. :cry2:

Frosted Snowdrops may be back in a few weeks. Still on the fence as to if I want to keep that one in stock. :)

  2. Wow! Hey, it sounds like Solas is losing out on some new customer opportunities, sounds like shipping costs are costing them. It’s too bad they couldn’t ship USPS and have those samples ship twice as fast for half the price they’re charging for sloooow UPS or FedEx. Someone could order 15 1oz samples and pay $4.60 and get it in only 2-3 days. They could also offer their customers $8.95 2-3 day shipping for up to 9 lbs of oils. Just think of the savings they could pass on to you! I guess it‘s too much of a hassle to go to shop.usps.com order flat rate boxes and labels shipped to their business all for free, think of the savings in cardboard boxes! But then I guess they couldn’t get $10 to ship 10 ozs, which with their UPS discount probably cost them all of $5, while they pocket the rest. No, I don’t work for the Post Office, I’ve just been in business long enough to know what my customers want, cheap fast shipping.

Wow, I don't recall hiring you to work for me, so maybe... just maybe... you should not be tossing around accusations that I "pocket the rest" after UPS charges me $5 to ship a box. I know for a fact that I have N E V E R shipped a box to ANYONE for that cheap. And if I had, I would not be charging them $10 for shipping.

Obviously, you think USPS is the way to go... OH WAIT! Now I remember why I use UPS to ship Fragrance Oils... I do not feel like going to JAIL or paying a TEN THOUSAND DOLLAR fine. Read this:

I am not going to break the law for anyone, just so you can save a couple of bucks while I put myself and my business at risk.

As I have said over and over again, and as other people have also said, shipping prices per pound drop dramatically after the first pound of product is in the box. So yes, it is going to be expensive if you want only a few ounces of fragrance oil.

By the way, in the end I LOSE money on shipping when everything else is factored into the overall cost. I have to buy boxes, packing materials, tape, labels (not to mention having all that stuff shipped to me and paying that as well) and assorted UPS costs, not including fuel and everything else. I am sure you don't care about any of that though.

Normally, I am a nice guy, but I do not apprecaite being attacked and being made out to be someone who is out to take people's money. I have been in business for many years and go to great lengths to satisfy the needs of my customers. As they say though, you can not make everyone happy, and there is always going to be people out there that whine and complain about everything.

  3. UPS decides on what to charge for shipping. I have no control over that. Please keep in mind that if you want 1 oz or 16 oz it is going to cost the same amount to ship it (with the exception of the box weight, of course). Shipping prices drop dramatically as the weight of the box goes up. It is much more cost effective, shipping wise, for a large amount of product shipped at the same time.

  4. I personally refuse to use soy or soy blends. I have dealt enough with soy to know that I do not like it. Give me my paraffins any day of the week.

Besides, soy is not as environmentally friendly as some people would like you to think. I'm not saying that to stir a fight with anyone, just stating a fact.

  5. Wow....I don't know what lumps and bumps you got going on there, but it sure does look pretty from my angle!!

I sure wish you hadn't said it was Solas' Chrome....I have a big ol bottle of that sitting here waiting to be soaped! Hello HP! ROFL.

Be sure to post pics when you cut that bad boy!

    Donna

I soaped it and it came out really good.

  6. Oh good, I'm not the only one who does RT then! I did the whole temp thing the first time and was like "forget this!" And I will mix, melt and let it sit for a little while and then after an hour or so I combine, etc.

The soap looks good for your first time! Mine looked terrible my first time, but it sure did make a good bar. LOL

  7. Pics?

When you add scent to the soap, you should mix with your spoon and not the stick blender. The stick blender will help accelerate the process once the FO is added. I did that the first time and like you, had to scoop the soap into the mold. Since then, I add FO, and stir with the spoon until it is nice and incorporated.

  8. Yeah Grumpy. That soap looks horrible. I can't believe everyone is telling you it is so good. The colors and everything... just terrible.

So please, just send me that crappy looking soap, so you do not have to look at it anymore. You shouldn't have to deal with it, and I can dispose it of it properly.

    Dork. :P

  9. Wow!! now that's SCARY!!!

how is this spammer getting the personal info??

did you forward it to paypal spoof mail?

Hope I don't get one like that.

    Dani

Yup, I forwarded it to paypal aready.

I think they got ahold of a computer or some data backup from ebay/pay pal and got the info off that. The card they had from me was expired. But the information is anywhere from 4 months to 14 months current.

  10. I never ever ever open pay pal stuff in emails.

No matter what!! I go right to the site and go from there.

    Same with Ebay.

I get emails spam for mid America bank and Chase and I don't even have an account and it's asking me to update my info. strange.

Another pay pal scam was....there's been several attempt to access your pay pal account from bonsia some country...etc.

I don't open the emails, I go right to the site and see if there's such thing.

I feel so bad for those who just don't or didn't know. :(

    Be careful!!

    Dani

Right, but this particular one HAS personal info attached to it. I have never seen one before that had personal info already in the message.

  11. Apparently there is a new Paypal email going around asking to update your info... what makes this one different, and scary, is that is HAS YOUR CREDIT CARD INFORMATION in it. I just about crapped on myself when I looked closely at the email.

I kid you not. It's a new email going around. Look in the "To" area of the message header. If you see your card info in there, CALL YOUR CARD COMPANY and get a NEW ONE issued right away. DO NOT CLICK ON ANY LINKS in the email!

I didn't fall for it, and would not have noticed if I didn't look closely at the message. This is making me consider not doing business with or through ebay/paypal from here on out. Not if they can not protect their customer information.

  12. Oh yeah ... thanks for the soaping review, J! (My manners are getting rusty here. Blame it on playing the new Zelda game for like 3 hours today. :embarasse LOL)

BUT HEY, at least I beat the first level! Whoot! :laugh2:

    GAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    I want to play Zelda!!

But noooooo.... I have to pour FO all day. LOL

So it sits in the box upstairs... TAUNTING me.... Chris.... come play.... I'm waiting. :D
