i got mine from here:
-
4 pounds of paraffin to 1 cup of mineral oil, hth!
-
what you are looking for is paper bobeches. i know, weird word,lol...anyway, try a search with those key words. i did find one source for you to get you started: scroll down to the paper ones.
-
i used the vanilla stabilizer in my oatmeal milk & honey soap, which would normally turn a dark brown. so far it is still a very light cream color.
-
they ARE getting some samples to test...
-
beeswax is great for overdipping! and IGI 1250, which i think is what Flicker uses.
-
i heard that they are getting some samples in to find a decent replacement. hopefully they will get a good one.
-
cute!
i grubby up mine too! i even spray painted some black for Halloween a few years ago. oh yeah, the tips are like soft stretchy rubber...my kids pulled off the tips when they were younger, lol!

Blue Sugar - BCN
Green Irish Tweed - Oregon Trails
if you like that incense scent like nag champa and patchouli - Dragon Fire - Oregon Trail; i cut back on it cuz it's super strong
Cedar & Saffron - BCN ( the cedar is predominant in cp)
-
BCN has a really good one. JBN had a mint leaf a while back that was strong on the fresh spearmint leaf note, but i detected a fuel note. i think they have a mint julep, but i haven't tried that one yet.
-
love, love, love JBN's! it throws great in paraffin and soy and is killer in melts!
-
did you try BCN's Apple Juice in the Gel Aroma line? a lot of those fo's do great in soy and paraffin.
-
claire burke's apple jack & peel
mixing spiced cranberry with macintosh apple
-
we did side by side comparisons and found that ez-soy with fo added at 175* had a stronger throw than the one with fo added at 120*(per manufacturer's recomendations). i never add fo lower than 175*, because it needs the higher temp to fully encorporate it into the wax. adding it at such a low temp. like 120*; has a higher risk of the fo seperating out.
i also find that 1 oz per pound is plenty.

I wouldn't think you would say anything else Laura, considering you're a moderator on their candle forum.
that has nothing to do with why i posted my opinion, but i'm not surprised some would feel that way. i order from several suppliers, several of which i have to hit the back button a few times. to me it's just not a big deal like it is to others. could it be better? sure.i'm not denying that; i just don't think it's THAT big of a deal that i would go elsewhere, or assume there is a hidden message of intent to repel customers behind it,lol!!!
i certainly don't envy them with having to change theirs; with all that inventory... but they do have someone new working on theirs, and it's taking longer than they had hoped.
-
it's really not hard. i click on the shopping cart, then click on my first item to order. it then goes to a page to get your zip, etc. then i just hit my back button and go back to where i want in the cart. every time i add something, i just hit the back button and walla....so i don't see what's so frustrating about it.

you might run into some problems with using a cunsumable alcohol in your products, so look into regulations.
-
heads up on smelling it...it reaches up and pinches the heck out of your nostrils!
i have some on the way and will try it with the next few batches of cp i make and will post my results too.

this happened on Halloween...
-
here's mine:
Laura C's Basic Brown Sugar Scrub
1/2 cup white granulated sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup veggie oil
2-3 tsp. fresh coffee grounds( ou can sub it or leave it out)
1/4 tsp. fo
( add a perservative like liquipar @ 1%, if you intend to sell; to prevent the growth of beasties)
you can add some Vitamin E to prolong the shelf life, by preventing rancidity in the oils, but it is NOT a preservative
makes approx. 1-8 oz. jelly jar
this scrub requires a bit of stirring before use since the oils will sit on top. you could also sub some of the oil with a soft butter like shea, for more of an emulsified scrub.
i scented this with a blend of fresh brewed coffee and creme brulee, which i think makes for a great way to start the day!
-
salt will sting, so i would use sugar, which is what i use.
-
then you can smooth it out a bit with nylon stockings.
-
i used to use sweetcakes which is dead on, but pricey!!! i switched to the BNL version which is just as good and a much better price.
