Thanks for all your help! I live in California and my kitchen doesn't get very cold but the temperature does drop fast...I'm not sure if there's a problem with my digital therometer?? I will keep on trying and see. Wow, valhallagal, 9-10 dozen candles twice a month! I can't even imagine...that's alot! I can't believe it. I really admire all of you who do candlemaking as a business. Maybe one day (far, far away from now) I will be able to pour more than 15 candles at a time hehehehe:smiley2:

Quick question about mass production (when I say mass production, for me, it’s 10 jars at a time...don't laugh). I melt my wax in a double boiler and pour it out of a melt pot. I wait until the wax is 175 degrees to pour; but by my 4th or 5th jar the wax is now approximately 160 or 165 degrees and it effects the appearance of the wax. So, do any of you professional candle makers have any suggestions or tips on pouring when you do your mass production? Thanks and I hope you all have a great Thanksgiving!!

I recently ordered some GL 70/30 wax. I've never used their wax before (I used Ecosoya CB Advanced); although I did experience some wet spots with the 70/30, I really love the wax. It's so much easier for me to use than the Ecosoya Advanced. The cold and hot throw is great. Plus, Brenda (I think she's the owner?) is so nice and provides awesome customer service.

the flame for both the ECO 8 and ECO 10 has a pleasant flame size. I haven't experienced any soot, although I there's some mushrooming on both ECO 8 and ECO 10. These jars are so frusturating!! I'm making these for my friends and families and have bought a number of them. I'm going to switch afterwards...ugghhhhh:(

Hi all, I really need your help b/c I’m currently using GL 70/30 wax in a balmoral jar (3.25” in the middle and 1.5” near the bottom). When I use the ECO 8 wick it does okay; the scent throw is good (my husband smells it, but I can’t) but it usually leaves a thin wall on one side of the jar after I burn it for 3-4 hours even after my third/fourth burn. When I use the ECO 10 wick it does a great job in providing a complete melt pool and hot throw. However, with the ECO 10 the glass gets pretty hot after I burn it for about two or three hours ( for instance, I would have to hold the container from the bottom b/c holding the top is hot) . So, my question is it normal and safe for container candles to get hot like that? I really want to use my ECO 10 b/c it’s giving me such a great melt pool and hot throw; with my ECO 8 it’s giving me a decent melt pool and hot throw but, again, it’s not burning all the wax on the side of the container even on my third burn. I use 6% FO pp of wax. FOs are from GL and CS. TIA

Thanks. I tried using LX22 wick but it was leaving too much wax on the side of the jar. I repoured my candles this morning and used LX24. We will see how it goes. I will also try HTP as well. Thanks for your help.

I'm currently using GL 70/30 wax and love it. But does anyone know how to change wicks during testing without having to repour the entire candle? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I'm not sure how high the quality of the jar is, but I requested a sample of their jar. Hopefully, the do samples.

Thanks Groovy Chic! Gail164, For the labels, I was thinking of just having a circle label on the lid. I think a label on the jar would be hard since the jar is so curvy and it might scrunch up the labels...But that's just my opinion though. Thanks for your help all!

I'm new to candle making and I want to make candles for my family. I want to make candles in a 9 oz. balmoral jar and I'm using GL 70/30 wax and 6% scent oil. I was wondering if you would be willing to share what wick you use for this type of jar and in your experience has it been hard to find a good wick for this jar?
