I'm guessing you could use white kaolin clay instead of the bentonite clay. Are you making it just out of those three ingredients or is there more to the recipe?
It's a ready-to-use cream base. All I've been doing is adding the scent.
I should clarify a little... I made up three sample-size jars, and added clay to one, coconut oil to another, and glycerine to the third, to test the thickening ability of those additives. I capped them, and will let them sit a few days, then see what the results are.

I have a great shaving cream base, but it seems a little runny. I'm looking for an additive that will both thicken and provide a good slickness, but not compromise the latherability.
I have made 3 trial samples, one of each using:
76 degree coconut oil
pure glycerine
bentonite clay.
I'm not a fan of the coloring that the clay gives, is there a white clay that is comparable?
Does anyone have an idea of another additive that would work?
Thanks. I'll hang up and listen.

Darn!
The stuff came yesterday, much faster than I thought, and I was all ready to hate it. However, it lathers like nobody's business, and I shaved with some of the base, and it gives a good shave.
So, other than the lengthy time it took to get it, I can't complain about the actual product itself.

UPDATE:
Shipped on the 12th, with an expected delivery date of the 27th.
It was sent through Canada Post.
For the 20-odd dollars I spent on shipping, it could have at least been shipped UPS.
In their defense, I ordered some FO's through their Canadian site, and had no problems. I ordered the shaving cream through the US site, and it has not gone as smoothly.

Me too. I have had a couple requests for it but my response was its in the razor isle of walmart
Blasphemy! That canned goo is evil, not to mention terrible for your face.

does Bayousome have it?
No, they are mostly packaging. I saw their site a while back. I might get some jars from them, but they don't have the base.

The bad experience I had with them is one of the reasons I found this forum. I ordered their shaving cream base, and it took a month for them to ship. No communication, and terrible customer service.
Unfortunately, I only know of one other place that sells the base I need, and they charge double what W,N does.

Woo-hoo! First post!
I am looking for any suppliers of an unscented shaving cream base. I ordered some from a company I shall not name, and they just shipped today... a full month after I ordered.
That won't work, if I should start getting orders. I already have a boutique owner in town that wants to carry my creams and shaving brushes.
I started with a great base that I have actually been shaving with, but it is pretty expensive. I found the same stuff from the slow shipping company, but I am looking for other alternatives. It must have an excellent lather, as well as be somewhat moisturizing.
Let me go ahead right now and quash the FBB angle. I started out with that first, and it just doesn't lather right. I still have 6 lbs. that I don't know what to do with, now.
Any help would be appreciated.
I need thick and slick...

A-HA!
I just thought of this, but I haven't tried it, yet. I still have 6 lbs of FBB, that, by itself is a lousy shaving cream. However, it may prove to be the perfect additive. We shall see.
eta: So far, so good. I'm getting the consistency I desire, without sacrificing latherability, plus, it's nice and slick. I took some existing scented cream I had made up, blended the prepared FBB into it, and now I will let it sit a day or two. A big bonus is that it looks like my production costs per 4 oz. jar might be less, because of the FBB doubling in volume during prep.
