What kind of clays are good for making MP shaving soap?
-
How do you know for sure it's DOS is it always large spots or could it be small spots? Will it have a smell? I know you have to pitch them once you get it correct?

Mostly M & P stuff and way over priced & junk if you ask me.

On the BC board there is a recipe by Flicker that uses soy wax. I have used this recipe and it is awesome. I would put it here, but it is not mine so I don't know if it is appropiate or not. It really is good soap if anyone wants to look at it.
I love that recipe too the bars get nice and hard and sudsy

I try to avoid rebatching as much as possible it's a pain in the butt lol. I would rather do my cold process in the scent I want. Or do it the hp way so you can use it quicker

I love using the foam craft sheets I haven't tried the freezer paper yet though.

I bought some of those at joann last year & they were terrible. I bought chocolate votives and they smelled like wax crayons with no scent coming from them.

Will this work with the walmart shortening?

Oh I love patchouli that is one of my fav's now blue sugar I can't stand blech! LOL.

The only thing with candelilla is the scent is so strong it will overpower what ever scent you put in. At least that is what happened to me with it lol.

I do what soapfreak does, but I buy the larger craft sticks in the big box at michaels. I use clear glass bowls for mixing my oxides so I can look on the bottom of the bowls to make sure there's no clumps.

Oh great, just wonderful ideas thanks so much.

I had to throw some out that the humidity got to and I think activated. When I used it, there were parts that weren't dissolving in the water and I would have to strain out. I did that w/ a few batches and threw the rest out and bought new.
This has happened to me 2x now so I got fed up with my local supplier, I don't think he's storing it correctly. I buy it from lowes now.

Has anyone seen Bvlgari AQVA in a dupe anywhere? I know it's a long shot, but the description I found says Top Notes: Mandarin and Petit Grain. Heart: Santolina and Posidonia. Base: Mineral Amber.

I plan on making some cp soap for my brother and dad for christmas so I need some ideas. I know I'm going to make unscented for them, but what kind of scents are you guys using either eo's or fo's for men's scents. My dad is 60 & brother is 30. I don't know much about designer scents, but I know I can't stand blue sugar lol.

Wonderful thanks so much

Some eo's are edible they work well in lip balms, but I wouldn't recommend it until you do a lot of research. Some can kill you. I've been using eo's for over 10 years now and still learning about them. Lavender is my favorite though

Thanks for the help, sorry I forgot to mention it's for soap LOL.

Thank you, I didn't see that when I searched. I think I searched for "clays" rather than "clay" so it didn't show up.
