  1. Sassy as in how sassy?

If you're talking attitude sassy, I was thinking...

yeah, that's what I was thinking of... just a representation of what we as women can be. I think I'm even going to have a couple of names that someone who's feeling more mature would be comfortable describing themselves as too.

  2. Hi there... I'm changing my image and my product line name. going with 'Sassy Lotions', and would like to rename my fave FOs to some fun and sassy names. If you can think of anything that will go with my Sassy theme, please toss them out for me. I appreciate the help!!!

    I'll get you started...

    Beach Babe

    Hot Mama

    Sassypants

    any other ideas?

  3. Someone asked me once, 'do the candles taste as good as they smell?' Duh, try one.

 I have to admit I can honestly tell them 'no'. My brother was watching me pour candles one day, and I was grabbing the drip and wiping my finger on the pour pot like I do every time. He asked me, 'do you ever accidentally lick your finger?'... 'no, of course not', I tell him... then, what do I do? I licked my finger. Strawberry Jam - soy wax. :tongue2:

  4. I bought this scent from a fellow chandler at a local show. I was so excited - but I didn't get any throw from her candle. soy - and I don't know what kind she uses. I was soooo disappointed, cuz I really liked it cold.

  5. sorry, no suggestion on where to buy those FOs - but a note that most heavy orange FOs have a chemical scent to them if you don't let them cure long enough before you burn them. Best way to sell soy/Orange is as a melt/tart or as a wickless candle. Otherwise you have to let them cure for up to 6 months, depending on the FO.

  6. I use the the 100% Soy Wax from BCN in place of the KB Soy stuff and it works the same. My customers rave about this product.

I package it in push up tubes and recommend that they rub it on their feet (or wherever is rough, dry or cracked) at night and let it work while they sleep.

  7. I'm one of those people who use a 'cheat' with emulsified lotions/butters - but I like the feel of the end product so much better than using e-wax and stearic... here goes...

    Cocoa Butter 10%

    Olive Oil 5%

    cyclomethicone 1%

    preservative .5%

FO 1% (can use up to 3% - reduce from water)

Fantasy Creme Maker (from oregon trail soaps) 4%

    Distilled Water 78.5%

The longer it sets the stiffer it gets (from the cocoa butter). It's just a luxurious body butter - and you feel the effects all day long.

    Hope you like it.

  8. I made weights for my tent that hang by a tarp strap (at least that's what my truck-driving family calls them - LOL). It's 3" pvc pipe abt 2ft long, and I filled it with quick-krete (alternated with water). once full, inserted a huge eye-screw that the tarp strap would fit through, and let the concrete set. they're about 25lb each and work great. and since they hang, I don't have to worry about anyone tripping over anything.

  9. I don't know anything about making body butter...but I think I read somewhere that soy flakes (if you are talking about the type you make candles with) are not good for lotions..something to do with the way it is made,,it is not cosmetic safe...But maybe someone with alot more knowledge will have some answers.

I tried it with EZsoy - don't go there, it wasn't the smooth whipped cream texture I'm used to - and also with the 100% Soy Flakes from BCN. the soy flakes were perfect, especially since I couldn't buy the Soya Skin Butter at KB the last time I looked.

    HTH

  10. trying this out today. my soap's in the oven and I'm on pins and needles. and wondering what I can do with the next batch. :rolleyes2

I'm using one of the Failor recipes - used coconut, jojoba and walnut oils. crossing my fingers that it works the way it's supposed to.
