In the olden days, a coffee can was called a melting pot or pour pot or pouring pitcher or melting pitcher or folger's can. I'd get the kit with the melting/pouring pot if it is only $5 different.

150 I think is too hot with 1343. Plus, I've seen thermometers deviate by 5 or so degrees all too often. Instead of measuring the temperature, I like to wait until the wax just barely skins over.

I second the electric griddle. Mine holds 6-7 pouring pitchers. Can't beat it for keeping wax/soap warm.

Set the thermometer gently in there. I've done this thousands of times. Even with a presto, I find that I still need to check temps in the presto and in the pouring pitcher.One more thing. You can get digital meat thermometers with a cord on them for about $20 at a number of retail stores. The digital ones are less likely to break.

To tell you the truth, I don't think you missed much of anything. It's best to hang on to your 99 cents. You know what I mean?

People may or may not read burn instructions. Maybe offer an instructional video? LOLI know when I've made them myself, it took me way too long to tab them. It just wasn't worth it.

I'll third those mann lake taper molds. They are so easy to use.

I wouldn't depend on the high melt wax holding your wick up. When it burns to the bottom, the priming melts anyway.Short of swtching to zincs, I'd make sure your burn instructions advise against burning it that far down. I'd also make sure that it advises keeping the wick trimmed. If the wick is trimmed and the wick tilts in any direction, it should drown out since it is anchored to the bottom.
