  1. I have used the gold (its ok) blue (great) lavendar (great although very light) and the green one which that one doestn work for me. Sucks because i jsut ordered the neon gel tones the other day. I hope they are brighter and stay true to color.

  2. Does this only happen to me?

Everytime I use green gel tones they morph! In cphp they work beautifully! However in cp they totally change color. And of course they taunt me first by showing me a lovely shade of green then it turns. One batch turned purple in the bowl, brown in the mold than finally decided on orange.

Made a batch yesterday and it turned a lovely shade of green. I was patting myself on the back and it started turning burgundy! By the time I poured it in the mold it was crap brown with a red tint and has pretty much stayed that way. Wayy too ugly.

Can it be the scents? Just baffles me beacuse it only happens with the green one. Damn the green!

  3. in a sense. I am sick of using the same oils and butters in every recipe. I have subbed some hemp and macadamia nut oil. But other than that its always the same old same old.

I ran out of castor oil so I am on hold for soaping. Tomorrow I am going to WHole foods to pick up some more. They have a pretty good choice of oils there. And they have different clays.

Are there any oils that you think I simply *must* try at least once or you will kick me off this board forever? lol Or clays?

  4. Hmm I know Whole Foods sells organic coconut oil but it is pricey. You could always try a health food store. OR I saw it in blue little containers 8oz for $1 at a International Food Market. If you have anything close to that.

  5. ROFL! Well I cut it. Tried figuring out the dimensions in my head, not a good choice! I got 6, yes that's right 6 bars out of a 2lb mold! As of right now they weigh 8.3 ounces. Theya re freaking HUGE! The second cut I used a plastic tray mold I got from MMS and that one worked out much much better. This cutting thing doesnt work for me. I shouldnt be trusted with sharp objects anyway

  6. I think this one is a winner! The lather is great, lots of bubbles which I was surprised with, not drying at all. Over all fantastic. Hemp oil of course is waaaayyyyy expensive. But I figure I will use the same percentages just keep switching the 10% hemp with something else. Yesterday I amde one with Macadamian nut oil in place of the hemp and it is really really good so far. I am so happy!!

  7. Alright so 3 more soaps with my new recipe!

First is the ugliest-I cut it like I was drunk, I tried to swirl with purple but the unrefined green hemp oil took over. Nag Champa-luckily it's easy on the nose since it is so hard on the eyes lol

Then we have my Father's Day soap-instead of hemp I used macadamian nut oil. The bubbles on this one are great!

And last but certainly not least, my wake & bake soap. Made with Hemp oil f course. Sucked on cuting this one too. Got 6 bars out of a 2lb mold

  8. Tell 'em to just shut up and either buy the soap or don't.

and if your candles are soy then they aren't fat free... right? I mean isn't soy wax really hydrogenated soybean oil? tell 'em not to eat those either.

lmao!!!! I just spit out my pop

  9. I want to try to incorporating hemp oil into a recipe. This is what I have tried in soap calc

    Coconut 15%

    Palm 15%

    PKO 15%

    Hemp10%

    Shea 10%

    Castor 10%

    Olive 25%

    Hardness 39

    Cleansing 19

    Conditioning 57

    Bubbly lather 28

    creamy lather 29

    Iodine 64

    INS 140

Anything thoughts? I also have mango butter, canola oil, sunflower oil, grapeseed, RBO, avocado oil, macadamian nut oil, avocado butter, shortening, lard and probably a few more if you think something else would look better in this recipe. Any help appreciated!!!

  10. They are all for cp-actually here are my reviews for all my dyes lol gel tones seem to do what they want sometimes, I have dyes from Nuscents they sometimes do whatever they want. The best ones thus far have been the FD&C dyes from the pigment lady. They always stay true to what they are supposed to be and haven't faded (yet)

  11. Well I have been busy making soaps! I am loving cpop. Here are the ones I made recently

    sweatyballs.jpg

coconut lime verbena. Colored with green gel tones lol was green when I started, turned purple when I poured then turned orange

Not even sure what I was shooting for here but really like the results!

    ridindrty.jpg

Pineapple scented this was supposed to be green but it looks like my soap does whatever it wants to

Hawaiian cake bake from Just Scent accelerated alot!!!

  12. I ran out of soap boxes and need to package some soap that I sold. Anyone have any suggestions on what I can use instead? I looked locally and there isnt a company in driving ditance so now I have to create packaging. Would it look ok if I banded it with a strip of wax paper and a label?

  13. What keeps happening to me is I add the fo and it all seems fine still loose and when I'm working on pouring my color for swirls and then go back to my uncolored part it gets gloppy and so when I add my final layer of color it just runs off the glop instead of sinking in to make pretty swirls. *sigh* When I met Bunny last year and she showed us how to make soap she barely stick blends at all, it's still very very runny so that is how I've been doing mine but that darn fo oils makes it set up fast.

That's the same thing that happens to me. I can never get a thin pour no matter how hard I try. Maybe I will have to hardly stick blend and pour that may help me.
