  1. I bought some Democrat from the Classies and put it in lotion. My teenaged students and my fellow teachers loved it! One of them said it smelled like soap, too. I called it Hybrid Hippie because anything that says Democrat around here is a bit of an issue.

  2. I use the 1/2 pint size from that seller on ebay. Service is great and I thought the prices were excellent. I put my "Milk Suds" in them and use a plastic liner bag. Even though I have to glue those cartons together....I was not sure the powder would not sift out. Getting the hang of putting them together was a little tricky too.....then again, I am a little challenged in that area anyway.

what bag did you use for the plastic liner?

  3. I kept the name Monkey Farts because people get a kick out of the name and it is one of the first scents they pick up and after they smell it they usually buy it. Another one that sells for me in the spring and summer are Lick Me All Over which which I changed the Jolly Rancher FO too. And Butt Naked. People have such dirty minds. They all sell well this time of year for me.

I made some lotions for a teacher appreciation event, and I changed monkey farts to monkey business for the few who might be offended, but all my friends at work know and love Monkey Farts. I changed Lick Me All Over to Hair Band Groupie for the same reason - that's the huge hit right now, and it reminds me of Butt Naked with a touch of floral, which everyone loves. I also called Rice Flower and Shea Natural High... lemme tell ya, they love that! Grown ups are such teenagers sometimes! Sheesh:grin2:

  4. I'm thinking of putting some bubble bath in goody bags for my twins' birthday. My son picked Curious George, so I'm finally ordering Monkey Farts from NG. My daughter picked a Hello Kitty theme... anyone have a thought for something (besides Pink Sugar) that would be cute and girly for the girl treat bags and is sold by NG?

    TIA

  5. Red Velvet Cake & Vanilla Extract from BCS--they are both awesome!!HTH~

Vanilla Extract would be aptly called Vanilla Heaven or Vanilla Haven. It's that good. I wear it and bathe in it. As soon as possible, I'll be scenting my world with it. And here I thought I'd "outgrown" my vanilla fetish.... silly me.

  6. There are some others I have tried that I liked a little better than BC.

Since you are within driving distance to BCS, your best bet is to stay with them, B&B bases are heavy and add a lot to shipping cost.

Thanks for your reply! Shipping's a big consideration, to be sure, but because of their hours of operation, it's not always cheaper for me to get there to pick up. Also, they don't carry the bubble bath or ingredients for body butters (dying to try), so I have to pay the shipping from BCN or somewhere else anyway.

Assuming I stay with what I can get at BCS (ie lotion and shower gel), is there a better or just-as-good bubble bath you've found?

  7. If you had very limited funds and wanted to try a few things from Solas, Nature's Garden, and Aroma Haven - and you were focusing on B&B - which ones would you have to have?

I have a few scents from JS and a goodly number of 1 ozers (and a few larger bottles) from BCS (one word - SANGRIA) and BCN, but I keep hearing such great things about these other three suppliers that I'm dying to branch out.

    TIA!

  8. I got my surplus 12 oz bottles yesterday with flat rate shipping. So sad I didn't order more!!!! Still, even with the $33and change actual shipping, the bottles are 16 cents before tops. That's pretty darn cheap. Even with disc tops and shipping on those, they are a good deal. If my folks like them, I'll grit my teeth about paying so much for shipping.

  9. Don't forget some tropical fruit scents like banana, coconut, and pineapple ...

Vanille Banane - smells like a "banana colada"

Better than Sex Cake - a good pineapple scent

OMG! These sound divine! Which supplier do you use for them?

  10. I'm starting to plan my business (I'm moving out of only making gifts), and I just can't decide which bottles to use for liquid b&b products. I've been reading and reading here, but still can't decide which to use.

In the past, I've just ordered everything from BCS or BCN, so I've only used PET bullet bottles for gifts. I know I want to change something, but I'm not sure if I should try to change the plastic to get better squeezability, change the shape just because I like another shape, or do both. Most of the HDPE or MDPE things I find are quite similar to bullets, though there are boston rounds, too. Boston rounds are my favorite of the PET bottles. I would be using disc lids for the time being, and would add pumps later or sell separately for those who prefer them.

Anyway, since there's no way to see it all, I'm asking for both your opinions and your BTDT knowledge. Thank you in advance for any guidance you can provide.

There is also this one bottle at essentials by catalina. Anyone have an opinion on it? http://www.essentialsbycatalina.com/shop/shopexd.asp?id=403 The lid gives me pause because, while I've used a bottle like that before, I preferred these topped with the large-diameter disc lids.

    TIA!

  11. I put a tin on my warmer and a 8oz Jelly Jar (not at the the same time :)) and it seems to me that the tin gets hotter, but it also released fragrance into the air faster because the wax inside melted quicker (well and it was smaller). Neither seemed to get too hot.

ETA - Oh but keep away from children! :)

Thanks! Lots of us have the jars on warmers already - I even made those for some of us two years ago -but I'd been wondering about the tins. We teach high school, and though the kids are bigger, sometimes they just won't keep their hands off. I think I'd better stick to the occasional jar. Perhaps, however, I will do some tins for home. The jars I'm after this time are just crazy on the shipping!

  12. Hi! I'm new here. Wickless candles interest me as I am a teacher and will be selling at school. I read that some of you like the tins for wickless. How hot do the tins get when on the warmer? I have always glanced over them because I figured the outside would get hotter faster than a glass jar.

    Thanks!
