1. FEMM Candles stands for my siblings and I first name initial, Felix, Elmys (that's me), Mayra and Michael. I lost my sister, Mayra, almost 10 years ago and my mother came up with the name. Her wish is for the other siblings to start businesses with the FEMM name. So it’s kind of a sentimental kind of thing.

  2. Four 3" pillars of different height were made with 3lbs. of R-9728 IGI Votive /Pillar Blend, 3 oz. of FO, 1/4 tsp uv inhibitor, the blue strips was made with IGI 141, 1/4 tsp translucent crystals per pound.

I am burn testing the 3" x 4.5" for 5 hours, 36ply, I try the 30 ply but it burn out, so I wicked up. there is no sweating or bulging. The problem is that I think that the diameter on the top should be wider, right now, its 1/2" all around, should I be going to the 60 ply. The candle is not soft at all. I try to hug the candle and is hard around the edges. Please help me, this is the first candle that I am testing so I have no idea if the results are okay. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

  3. I am a newbie at making candles. I have attached two pictures of my first 3" x 4.5" pillars. The green swirls are 3" x 3.5" and 3" x 4.5", they are scented with Autumn Apple, the 3" x 4.5" blue stripped is scented with Jasmine and the 3" x 4.5" is a solid bright yellow pillar scented with pineapple paradise. The second picture is the packaging that I planned on using. I would like your honest opinion as to whether they look like a sellable product. Thanks in advance. I made more candle last night and will be posting more pictures tonight. :grin2:
