  1. I can't find how to edit the thread and obviously I didn't know how to size the picture!

I'll try again with a different picture and hopefully the moderator will resize that one.

I have that shelving as well! I have had mine for quite a few months and they have held up really well..

    Great pics!

  2. WOW, ALAN I LOVE THIS BOARD!!! So incredibly clean and fresh!

Okay, now that I'm done ooh'ing and aah'ing over it, time to move on.

Yeah, been a while since I posted anything, I haven't actually been in the kitchen that much. Took a week off to do nothing and I think it did me some good, though my apartment is still a wreck.

My first candle after my hiatus was for me, just me. The FO's used was French Vanilla and Leather, 9 x 3 pillar. Two ounces total of FO if I'm not mistaken, notebook not near me. Ivory IS mottled, the black wasn't. And it was exactly the effect I was going for.

If this wasn't an indication that I need to get back and create my candle art, nothing will.

Thanks for looking and please, I need feedback!

    Lovely looking candles!

    Blessings!

  3. Just an FYI:

Had about 3 lbs of unused wax left in the melt pot over night, set it on burner, turned heat to low like I always do...went about cleaning some molds, etc. Just as I turned back to the stove, it blew straight up like Old Faithful. Hot wax went everywhere, the stove top, the back of the stove, the wall and even up in the hood. Can't repeat the words that spewed from my mouth !! So, I considered it a lesson learned and next time I poked holes in the wax before putting it on the burner. Came back a few minutes later, the holes had sealed over so I stuck a poker into the unmelted wax to reopen the holes and it blew again, this time all over my hand, arm, face & hair. Hurt like heck but the wax wasn't hot enough to blister the skin...just my pride. Today I'm cleaning the stove :o

    OMG!

You are so lucky you or nobody else was hurt!!

Eeek..never melt wax directly on the stove.. Scary~

  4. I made this one for my office at work. I poured a few ounces into room temp mold, tipped the mold several times so the wax would cover the inside of mold, let it sit for a minute or so then filled the mold pouring slowly. The pouring temp was around 140. The directions are off Peak Candle Supply site under instructions. I didn't do a cold water bath tho.

looks great, the color is really pretty!!

    What scent is it?

  5. Thanks everyone :) The first one I made I was too impatient to wait until it completely cooled and when I tried to pop it out...well....lets just say it wasn't ready to come out yet...LOL

I have done that so many times!! LOL

    I am extremely impatient!!!

  6. My mom found these They have a little votive cup on top. But the standard votives we all make are too tall. I may just pour right into the cup. Who ever did these is a very good painter. Something I am not :( I thought they were cute :)

    They are very cute!!!

  7. This is in response to the electric candle thread in the general candlemaking forum. These were done with hurricane wax, neon pigments and a clear overpour sprinkled with glitter. Really pretty after dark and a great seller for me..

    The size is about 4 1/2" x 4 1/2".

    Great job!!

  8. This was my first attempt at a marble, and I loved how it turned out. This was also made with the hurricane wax. The puppy was dipped and scented Vanilla, the other candle was a Burgundy chukie, with a solid color layer on the bottom, scented Mulberry.

    I like the colors!!
