Hello everyone and thanks for the wonderful threads that I have read for quite a while.

I would like to do more than I have with the candle kits I have used so far. I was hoping for a little advice on tarts. Mainly I could use some recomendations on soy waxes to use, best temps for working with and adding frag. and pouring temps. Best places to get dies and fragrances. ect.

My first tries were disasters (mainly removing from molds).

I would like a few options to experiment with and find the ones that work best for me. I think that would be a good avenue as I see you all have many different views. (And they have all been wonderful)

Any way thanks and I will take any help I can get on tarts including wicks for floaters. We burn a lot of candles and love to give them as gifts. I think the giving would be more fun if we could make them and add our own personal touch.

I make small batches right now but this is how I do it. Mixture of soy pillar and container wax. heat to 180f. color @ 170 fo @ 170 pour @ 145 freezer 1-2 min. for mold release. Have had great outcomes everytime. This is just my method, and hey it works for me.

Just curious Needle, Why do you color your HS blue? I have HS's and they are yellow.

We're still testing the jars and using some blue just to test for frosting with the wax and to see how the lable is going to look against a dark background. Honeysuckle ranges from white/yellow to a white/pink depending on variety. Yellow would be a great color though.

The lables have not been testing yet when the jar is burnt and may not stand up to the glass heating up. We'll let you know. These lables are clear color laser lables same size as we use for our clamshells at 2 x 2 5/8 inches.

I agree. I have tried it and it is too soft. I use Ecosoya PB with a little CB Pure added to it. This works really great!

Do you like the smell of the Asian Sandlewood? I made some but couldn't stand the smell.

Do they pop out very easy, being they are soy? Could you show a pic of one poped out?

The soy pops out of the clamshells very well. Good soft texture.

Maybe the company put the wrong lable on the wax? I'm sure mistakes like that have happened before ha? It wouldn't be a good thing but a possibility.

We made alot of tarts this past weekend with different scents. The best friends by NG was way too strong! However I found one that is wonderful this morning it is Natural Eucalyptus Spearmint (headache /sinus) EO by wholesale Supplies Plus. It smells to me like Wrigley's Spearmint Gum. It may turn out to be a favorite with me!:whoohoo: I'm excited!
