  1. I have been researching the net for a dealer for IGI 4627. I just want to buy a single box, most of the dealers carry it in 2 25 lb boxes. Bittercreek South has a single for a good price, but they UPS so the price is still kind of high. I had considered changing to J225 but someone said they had wet spots and I have accidently kept a box of candles in my garage for a month in the south texas heat and humidity and didn't have any problems in fact the candles got stronger! If anyone can give me a tip I would dearly appreciate it.

    Thanx!

  2. I have been using IGI 4627, it has a great throw, it is just messy to work with. I have done some reading on Astorlite J225 and I was wondering if anyone has used it and if it really does have a great throw. The reason I am asking is that if it is as good or better than 4627 I would rather go back to the slabs, they are easier to work with.

Thanx in advance for any feedback

  3. I have seen one post on "The Candle Source" and that person was really happy with their products. I just checked their site and the prices are real reasonable especially their 1 oz. I am still a beginner and I am wanting to keep my costs low but I want quality. Has anybody else used their scents and can give them a thumbs up?

  4. I would just like to get some feelers on scent oil companies. I have recently gone thru Bittercreek South and their oils seem to be pretty good other than the Eucalyptus, I have read thru these message boards that Peak is really good. I am still working on getting a good base. Also, which ones are weak and I might want to stay away from. Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

  5. I used 1 oz FO Eucalyptus to 13 oz of wax, it is the same ratio that I have used for my other candles. I haven't lit it up yet, just poured it Saturday, but there is no or very little cold throw. All of my others and I have done 12 scents in 2 weeks have a good throw right away. I use the IGI 4627 wax. Does Eucalyptus need to cure longer or what? Container candles.

Thanx in advance for any ideas.

I went thru Bittercreek South, and their other scents are real smelly, although it was the last one I did for the day. My son and husband also said there wasn't much throw. I did their patchouli tonight and the whole house smells like patchouli. I am using Bittercreek for now because I can get next day delivery without paying next day delivery charges because it is only an hour and a half drive from me.

  6. It is a blend, it is called a comfort blend, it came in a 25 lb box, I use a wooden spoon to scoop it into a bowl on my scale. U may be right about the amount of scent because I am using 1 oz to 13 oz of wax. I will try using 3/4 oz to my 13 oz wax and see if it makes a difference, thanx for the input.

  7. Okay, sorry, I am using IGI 4627, and jelly jars that are 1/2 pint, and I have been pouring at 150 most of the time, but sometimes the thermometer is at 170. I am always afraid that it will cool too much and have chunks going into my containers. I am not using additives with this wax. I forgot to order UV inhibitor and plan to with my next order of supplies. Right now I am doing experimental pours so I am using 1 oz of scent to 13 oz of wax and color buds. Am I missing any other info, for a possible diagnosis of my mottling? Thank you for the explanation on the pouring temp.

  8. Hi, My Name Is Robbie, I Made Candles A Couple Of Years Ago And Now I Have Decided To Get Back Into It. I Have Two Questions First What Is The Benefit Of Pouring A Container Candle At 150 Vs 170, And The Other Question, The Last Time I Did This I Didn't Have Any Problems With Repours, This Time I Am Having Mottling On The Tops. If I Need To Furnish The Type Of Wax Or Any Other Particulars I Can, But If It Is Something Basic, Maybe Pouring Too Fast Or The Temp Thing Which Was My First Question. Help!

    Thanks For Any Advise
