Have any of you used the clear crystals with the 1260 paraffin? I bought some to try because my wax is just not as translucent as I need it to be. I am also going to try the 5055 wax which I have not tried yet. I just need my wax more translucent than I am getting out of the 1260. Sorry for all the questions. I will eventually run out of them 😳

Is there a trick to using a heat gun to melt off wax on a candle? Cause I suck at it
-
Cause I’m confusing myself with all my reading. Dont I need the vybar to make it harder so it wont melt easily? But then its making it opaque and I dont need that to happen. I havent tried it without the vybar cause I read that I need it to make the wax harder. Is that not correct?

Hi all. I am new to the candle making and I am trying to make hurricane shells with flowers in them. I have made a couple with the 1260 wax and added the vybar for it to be a little more opaque but its still not opaque enough for the flowers to show through. I use the metal molds with the inserts to hold the flowers in place while pouring the wax. But the flowers just dont show every well. I have read and read and I dont find that I am missing any steps.
Is there anything I can do to make my flowers show through better?

Well the color of flowers change when they are dried thats part of why I asked. I dont know about fruit. I just see some that look like they are using fresh fruit and wanted to ask. I was kinda wondering if the wax seals it up.

Hi all. I am new to the candle making and just have a couple questions so far. I am making the hurricane shells. I am curious as to why the flowers have to be dried. Can fresh flowers be used? And what about fruit? Does it also have to be dried or can it be fresh? I tried to search google but get no help with these questions. I would appreciate any insight yall can give me. Thanks!

I was reading up on waxes and found that 1218 was a very transparent wax but it was apparently discontinued. Does anyone know if it was replaced with something else close to it?
