EcoSoya closed up years ago leaving a lot of people stumbling around. The newly re-released version I have heard nothing about yet. 🤷🏻♀️
if I were to go back to soy, C3 has always treated me well. Midwest soy with a small amount of beeswax is nice after a decent cure. C1 with a little midwest and coconut wax worked very well for my tins.
ultra core wicks have been around for a very long time. They are not all that and a bag of chips by any means. They work well with some waxes (mostly paraffin) in some applications, but are no magic wick. They seem to be what BBW uses in many of their candles. If you like how those paraffin candles burn then you may like the ultra cores.
I've been interested in blending midwest and beeswax. What percentage of beeswax are you doing? Does it help with the frosting of the midwest?

I agree, I think a lot of it had to do with my temps not being high enough. I raised them a little when I did my top pour and they came out much better (though not perfect).
Really wish I could find another source for the modifier, even if it's just the stand alone ingredients and not the branded stuff.
I have 1lb of ASO Soy Modifier. If you PM me your address I will ship it to you. I am using a different kind of wax and don't need it. I have an ASO supplier in my town so it's very easy for me to get if I needed some.

I will say freedom wax is really easy to use. Seems like the additives are successful to keep it adhered to glass vessels well, and the tops are smooth. Apparently, that is what many customers seem to want. Well, that, and hold a lot of FO. It ticks those boxes just fine.
millennium wax is pretty. It, too, was easy to pour. I could not coax enough Ht from it, especially given the price. I even bought their FO and use their recommended wicks 🤷🏻♀️fortunately for me I have a supplier in my town. Not having to pay for shipping makes my decision easier

Working on the first series with American Soy Wax 464/Freedom wax now. Will be sure to post once they are ready.
The only certainty about candle making is nothing is guaranteed. Every single variable makes a big difference.
TallTayl, I played around with freedom wax for a bit. Do you like it? I noticed you say 464/freedom? I specifically asked ASO if freedom was 464 in disguise and they denied it.

I will definitely share my thoughts after I complete some more testing. As of now i get completely different results every pour. All processes and room temps are the exact same. I took a break to clear my mind and get a fresh start.

I talked to ASO and specifically asked the question if it was GB464 and the answer I was given was it was 100% Midwest with some form of botanical blend. I have been testing Freedom the last few weeks and havent been extremely impressed yet. I've been a Millenium user since I can get it locally.
