The best combination that I’ve tried for my melts so far is coco wax + 20% beeswax. They come out of the clamshell molds a lot better than my other tests.
The other combos that I didn’t like because they were way too soft were:
coco+6% bees+2.5 stearic
coco+10% Palm 2
coco+10%beeswax+20% palm

The melts were still too soft. I haven’t had a chance to burn the candle yet. I’ll let you know.

It’s funny that you mention palm. I poured a test candle and melts with 83 and palm today.

Hey, everyone!
I'm getting back into candle making after a 2 year hiatus. I made soy/beeswax candles for about 11 years and decided to try coconut wax this time around to try and get away from the frosting and overall finicky nature of soy. I’m looking forward to sharing my experience and learning from yours.

Hello, all!
I would like to make traditional wax melts (not scoppable) using mostly coconut wax. I am currently playing with Coconut 83. For melts I’ve tested 83 with 6% beeswax, 10% beeswax, and 6% beeswax + 2.5% stearic acid. Everything I’ve tried is too soft and the melts don’t come out of clamshell molds cleanly.
Does anyone have any tricks up their sleeve to accomplish this?

I know it seems like a lot to pay for the sample pack BUT I’m really liking them so far. They seem to help HT. I get a better HT with HPSP than I do CD or Premier in Coco Apricot. I’ve also noticed that I get a full melt pool without the jar getting as hot too.
