Welcome Brookstone, Great 1st post I'm not a container kind of gal, but I'm sure someone else will address that. just wanted to welcome you out of lurk mode
-
Sheryl, they all look great, it shows that your having fun, that's what it's all about
-
Mornin all! Not quite impressed with the "rustic" effect i have here but they are alot of "fun" to make. Have to figure out how to "tilt" the mould without burning my hands.
Great Job!! I was just thinking maybe of you have a large rubber jar opener? like a big circle shaped piece, I have a 5" one that I think would work, The rubber gloves or paper towels should work too, I personally can't stand having gloves on, but thats just me

I just dug thru my old pm's to no avail, and his profile on the old board was blank as well I'm thinking Scenteds idea of checking with Alan is the best bet here

Save some money - go to a craft store/walmart and buy a sheet of thick crafters foam (a 8x11 sheet). I think it's about 1/4" thick - just cut out a square and poke a hole in it - works great...
And you can use a wick tab as the washer too
Thanks for the tip Robin, when I don't use wickpins I use the jiffy wicker system, and it has worked great for me for years, I always knew there must be a cheep replacement for the rubber square's, I just always forget to look for something lol

Wow, looks brilliant! Which model do you have? Raytek MiniTemp MT2 without laser sighting, or Raytek MiniTemp MT4 with laser sighting. And how does it work - do you just point it at the wax in your pot?
I just went & looked at mine again, it does not say if its a MT2 or 4 but looks just like the picture in the link posted above, I got mine a couple of years ago, you would be surprised how handy it is, not just candle making
-
I have the Raytek MiniTemp w/light* & LOVE LOVE LOVE it, it totally changed my candle making experience, I also have a Taylor w/wireless remote that I could not live without hth
* I point mine & see the beam, that way you know exactly where your getting your reading from

......this might sound silly but it is true: "Those who plant kindness gather love".... Donita

I can't remember for sure, but I have had good sucess with them over the years, mostly for molds, but all in all I don't recall any major problems with them, if possible, make sure you try to order wholesale? it can save you a bunch
edited to add: I just realised you asked about there fo's, I can't say as I have used them much for that, I have been verry happy with Peaks fo's
