I guess what I am getting at is a decent recipe (right wick size, which specific wax to use, which specific company fragrance, etc.) not to copy-cat Yankee Candles (that would be nice to match some of their scents), but to make what I thought was a decent candle like theirs. For example, I've noticed they always burn all of the way around, and that the scent puts off very well.
If anyone has any specific tutorials that could help me out in this realm, that would be helpful.

They don't use 'off the shelf' stuff, it's all custom for them. Regardless, they are not known amongst the pro candlemakers here as decent burning candles.
Why are they not known as "decent"?

I love Yankee Candles, and am curious if anyone has developed a similar way to make a product like theirs? I am not sure if there is a tutorial out there, but it would be awesome if it had everything from the wick, to the scent, to the wax used.

What kind of wax are you using?
I am using soy wax.

I've attached an image of what I have been experiencing.

If you don't want that look you can try a parasoy blend, or paraffin, or play with some additives to try and smooth top surface out.
What is C3?
What are some additives that you would recommend?
I would like to avoid Paraffin at all costs (REF: https://essentials.banyantree.com/blogs/blog/no-love-for-paraffin-wax).
As I am new to this, what would a bad wick look like, when it burns?

example: category 2, deodorant. Let’s say for easy math you have 100 grams of deodorant, category 2. That particular scent can only be 0.47% of the whole bottle, or 0.47 grams max.
IFRA limits are set by individual components within the blend. if you are combining fragrances/essential oils, you have too consider the WHOLE amount of the mix of fragrance components. Example: if two or more of the fragrances you want to add contain that item that limits the deodorant to 0.47%, the overall total of the combination for the deodorant is still 0.47%.
That doesn't seem like a lot. How are these amounts determined? Is it for human safety, since it would be applied to the skin directly?

I bought some essential oils, and was wondering if there is a limit (or if I can use them at all) in body lotions and candles? Here is the product that I purchased: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00J8O18TQ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I bought some fragrances, and wanted to make candles and body lotions from them, but was wondering: a) If I can use these fragrances in the products, and b) How much of it can I have in them? Is there anything else I need to take into consideration?
From this picture, for the lotions, it says 1.07%. What does this mean? Does this mean, of the total product, only 1.07% can be fragrance, at max?

Hmmm, ok. Not sure what to do with the big bag of wax I have right now Any ideas/recommendations?

It is really hard to tech support throw issues with basically undocumented wax and wicks from Amazon. Those links are to unbranded products, so it is anyone's guess as to what they are.
The wax states they add 2% universal soy additive. That much additive changes the burn of normal soy wax and can impede throw right there, but without knowing what brand it originated as it is anybody's guess. Soy waxes are made using different hydrogenation levels which changes they way they perform.
The description for the Wicks just states cotton. Is that square braid? rRD? What size? Wicks are not a one size fits all like their listing states.
Have you asked the fragrance supplier why their fragrance is not throwing?
Where do you recommend purchasing wicks/wax from? Is more additive bad, impeding the throw?
I have not asked them, but I will.

If you let it keep burning, does it continue to tunnel all the way down? Or do the sides start to catch up. If it keeps tunneling, I would try one wick size up.
Goldie
It tunnels all the way down.
What would be one wick size up?

What is the best way to clean up wax-covered items, specifically the pouring jar?

Hello Droidus,
Well first off, I saw your other post with pictures....
WE need more information so when you put up a post we can make suggestions if you give all particulars of what you used and how you did.
What wax are you using?
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00WZ6N1QW/ref=od_aui_detailpages00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
What is the name of the fragrance oil you are using and where from?
http://maplestreetcandle.com/1-oz-Candy-Corn_p_43.html
What wicks did you use in the picture?
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01E0724PW/ref=od_aui_detailpages00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
How long are your testings?
I burned it for ~ 3-4 hours
Is it a first burn or 2/nd?
1st
How long did you cure your candle before burning?
1 week
When your making your candle at temp did you heat the wax and what temp did you pour at?
Yes; I believe ~135 degrees
You did correct in using 1 oz per pound of wax....
How do you know this? I've been told that different fragrances may vary on how much to use. This fragrance in particular, on the spec sheet, had "no restriction" (ref: https://maplestreetcandle-com.3dcartstores.com/assets/images/ifra/candycorn.pdf). Does it not vary?

Also, how can I promote a more efficient burn, so the wax towards the edges will also burn?

I used 1 oz of fragrance for ~1 lb of soy wax. It is in a 8 oz jar, and I noticed when I burn it, it is not strong. I understand using too much can be potent. What is the best way to figure out how much to use?

they are not as potent after making candles because they are diluted in the wax
So each one does have a potency, so doesn't it add up if you burn 10, 15, 20 candles (not saying all at once)?
Also, if I asked my supplier for a ingredients/chemicals list, is this something usually they are able to freely share?
-
So there are at least two chemicals listed here to avoid... is there a safe/credible supplier that somebody recommends to purchase FOs from?
Are there candle brands to avoid purchasing from, depending upon the FOs they use?
-
How are natural scents potent?
So it's probably not best to do this within an apartment if it's not aerated properly?
And what causes them to not be potent after making them into something?
-
I bought them from here: http://maplestreetcandle.com/ It looks like they are in compliance....
How are these 'potent'? What is the worst that could happen when inhaling these?
I used 1 oz. of a scent to make 1 lb (4 candles, 8 oz each). Does this sound right?
Per this: https://maplestreetcandle-com.3dcartstores.com/assets/images/ifra/candycorn.pdf , I technically could use unlimited fragrance in it (not saying I would do this, but that's what this chart is saying, for candles)? And if the maximum was 10%, this means a max of 10% of the solution can be FO?
How do I know if a FO is Phthalate-free?

Also, would this have to do anything with this?: https://maplestreetcandle-com.3dcartstores.com/assets/images/ifra/candycorn.pdf

Thanks for the response!
Is that soot bad to breathe in then?
I really like the "A clam & relaxing place".
It is just for hobby. But I thought about selling them (I doubt I could live off of that alone though).
I will have to look into this candle tour, thanks!
