@Ajah I got the eco sample pack and in the IGI 6006, it soots like crazy.
Really... look at this pic. It's 50/50 igi 4630 and GW 464, htp 83 Wick. One has soot and one is clean. But I fell asleep with one and it burned over night ( the one with soot). So this blend imo burns great and smells great.

So you like that combo? What wicks are your choice for this combo? I was thinking of maybe trying a blend.
For an example what jar would you use and your choice of wick in this combo if you don't mind me asking?
Thanks so much!
Trappeur
I'm currently using htp wicks, but I want to test eco just to compare. And I'm using a tumbler that I got from Peak Candle Supply. But I believe Candle Science has the same ones.

Igi 4630 and GW 464 50/50 is good imo.

Hey I don't what the soy paraffin ratio is in 6006. But I use a blend of 50/50 with igi 4630 and GW 464 and htp wicks work well with this blend. Maybe they might work in your situation.

Yes I agree htp 83 works well in that tin with 464/4630 blend

Soy does not throw as well as paraffin. So a blend may work better for you. I use igi 4630 and GW 464 50/50 with htp wicks. This may help.

Ok... thanks that really helps 😊

I am ready to do some wholesaling. Now how should I charge for shipping. Please help.

Try 2htp 52. I don't use that wax but I do use a soy blend in 8oz tins. Hope this helps

OK, I'm attaching photos of my first test with 4630, no FO, multiple wicks (description on photo), wicks trimmed to 1/4" before burn, and after a 4 hour burn. One photo is after the 4 hours before I blew out and one after blown out so you can better see melt pool. my initial thoughts is that zinc did not work. the entire time the flame was super poor. I like the CD's and HTP's. You might not be able to see in the photos, but HTP 62 and CD 10 made the best pool after 4 hours and they both burned well throughout. Let me know your thoughts. Do I continue 4 hour burns until wax is gone to determine which wick to go with for FO?
Hey it probably would be better if you test with fo.

Not sure but, Peak is re-opening in about two weeks. And they will just be starting out with fragrances.

Can believe Peak is closed. They had the best Birds Of Paradise. Anyone know of a similar supplier?

And it seems to be just appearance issues

I do use a turkey fryer for melting but haven't run into any changes in appearance from doing so and I use soy not paraffin
I have been making test batches in my presto and it looks the same as the fryer and it burns the same
@Ajahare you talking appearance issues only or burn issues as well?
I did read a post of LS issues with 4630
Recently....sounds to me like soy isn't the only wax having issues lately
I wouldn't think 4630 would set like that, it does look like a temperature issue - does your fryer have a thermostat? Have you tried pouring any using a presto or double boiler method?
Yes I tried the presto pot and got the same results
-
Yes I am having the same problem. I've been using igi 4630 for years now and have always gotten it from Peak but they are out so I got from Lonestar and this is what they look like. The red one was way worse but I hit it with a heat gun. And the tan one I test burned and even the melted wax solidified uneven.
-
It was used once before me but I cleaned very well. And looking over some other post it may be where I got it from which was Lonestar candle supply someone else seems to be having the same problem.
